Game Background

The federation of which you are a part of is under attack by an unknown and unidentifiable enemy. Using your mechanical warrior once again, take on the enemy with the power of your weapons and multiple upgrades.

Gameplay

Like the first Mechanical Commando, the objective of each stage will be outlined to you as you enter the stage. Further instructions may also come within a stage. They will be relayed to you in video casts at the bottom left hand side of the screen.

The gameplay is very much the same, with you controlling your mechanical warrior from a bird's eye view of the terrain. Also, throughout the game, you will encounter moments where the camera will zoom back, allowing you to see more of the area, but keeping you enclosed the space that is viewable. You are then confined in this area until you have defeated all of the enemies in that space.

Like the first game, there will be drops along the way to help you out in your missions.

At the top left hand corner of the screen, you can view the status of your machine's armor, as well as the cool-down meters of your primary weapon and shoulder weapons.

Items and upgrades can be purchased at the game's Hangar, which is the equivalent of a game shop. There are two different types of shops: Normal and Premium, the latter requiring you to have GamerGold that can be obtained from Gamersafe.com. For non-GamerGold owners, the Normal shop will have to do if you are looking for improvements to your mechanical warrior.

In the Hangar, you can upgrade the following areas of your mechanical warrior: front cannon, shoulder weapons, cockpit armor, and legs. You can also purchase special items to assist you in your missions.

The inclusion of the Hangar is one addition that separates the sequel from the predecessor. Another thing that is different about Mechanical Commando 2 is the inclusion of experience points that are used to level up your game character, improving your performance in the battlefield. The amount of experience that you can earn will be determined based on how well you complete each objective in each stage. There is also a time criteria that you can score well in to achieve higher experience points.

Fight your way through each stage to complete the game.
