The day came that I had to leave my four month old son overnight with my husband while I attended a meeting. We had a problem-a big problem! Our son would not drink formula and he was finicky about a bottle. After trying different types of formula and several different kinds of bottles, we came to the conclusion that he could adjust to the bottles but refused the formula. I had no choice but to pump my breast milk for him to eat while I was away. After remembering about the previous pumping sessions and dreading to do it again, we went back to the store to look for other pumps. After alot of consideration and label reading, we decided on the Medela Pump In Style. It was a splurge, a big splurge. However, I was determined to find a pump that would work while I was away.
After sterilizing the parts and reading the directions, I sat down to begin my pumping session. Much to my surprise, the Medela Pump In Style actually was different than my other pumps! In no time at all, I had 6 ounces of milk pumped and could have continued. The pump was easy to assemble and very easy to clean afterwards. The Medela Pump In Style came in a nice black bag that was discreet. Unless you were another mother that owns the same pump, you would never know what was in my bag. On the pump itself, there is a control switch that allows you to adjust the intensity of the suction. The only thing that I would change about the Medela Pump In Style is the sound it makes while pumping. However, all of the breast pumps I have used have made the same exact noise, so it is not just the Medela.
The Medela Pump In Style has changed my mind forever about breast pumps! I once thought that I did not produce enough milk for both nursing and pumping. That was simply not the case and the Medela Pump In Style has given me a new sense of freedom! For any nursing mother considering the purchase of a breast pump, the Medela Pump In Style is a quality pump that delivers results fast!
