According to Macdonald the media has made a point out of shooting down Obama's health plan.
Assertions by Macdonald in the article such as "It is largely the media's fault that Obama's position has come to be seen as the most liberal position in the "debate" do not acknowledge that Obama's health care program is extremely liberal and it is dangerous.
And, that is the tone of the article.
I find it interesting that the media watchdog group FAIR has found it necessary to get involved. They certainly make up a group of unbiased people.
FAIR is a union of the most liberal people in this country including Michael Moore, Phil Donahue, Mike Farrell and Susan Sarandon to name just a few. However if that isn't convincing then what about the fact that Obama's personal physician David Scheiner is in the group? He doesn't have a personal stake in making Obama happy does he?
The fact of the matter is I would have no problem with a debate if it were honest and open. There has been no such thing. What there has been are strong-arm tactics and one-sided politics. Even Obama's own party is having a little trouble swallowing his comprehensive change.
Macdonald is mistaking media interference with citizen revolt.
People are nervous. Obama has turned into a loose cannon. Whining that failure to get this plan through would ruin his presidency was all any thinking person should have to see and hear. It is absolutely incredible.
Also, the fact that these political policymakers would not have to abide by their own rules was a shock. They can opt out of the "National Coverage."
If anything the media has done its best to overlook obvious dangers of a system that further puts a country already staggering with debt deeper in a hole with no real study. Additionally it takes away personal rights but what does it matter when weighed against a successful presidency?
Anyone who thinks that the media has been anything other than Pro-Obama hasn't been reading the paper.
Reform of health insurance isn't getting resistance because of media favoritism; it is meeting resistance because it is dangerous legislation.

Post a CommentRight on! Obama apparently thinks he's so much smarter than the rest of us that we should just rubber-stamp everything he suggests like his liberal pals do. This health care plan, like everything else he has done, would be another disaster. Thanks for writing this.
Although I want better health care coverage, it costs money. I don't know if this nation can afford what it will take to make it a good plan. And if it's national, then the bigwigs shouldn't be able to opt out for something better. I though part of the point was to make it better and to give us the coverage that congressmen currently enjoy.
