We get the picture. He messed up. He's made his apologies. Now, can we as Americans move on please? Thank you. Everybody is so incredibly judgemental it's enough to make me sick. Everybody dogs Tiger because of what he's done off the golf course, and completely discrediting and forgetting what he's done on the course. It's a similar issue with Chris Benoit.
Yes it's a controversial topic, and yes I'm going to catch a lot of heat for it, and YES, I will be doing an article on Benoit in the coming the weeks. Let the games begin.
Some of you are probably wondering what the point of these articles are when you read them. Clear and simple, they are nothing more than editorial opinions. Everybody has the right to them, and I'm simply expressing mine.
The beauty of the First Amendment is the freedom it gives not only me, but the readers as well. I have the freedom to write and speak my mind so long as it does not keep the world from its daily functions. You have the freedom as the reader to choose whether or not you are going to continue reading my contributions to this site. But I do sincerely hope you will continue to read on, if for nothing more than entertainment value.
But back to the Tiger situation. Simply put, the man is human. He's made mistakes just like you and I have. Nobody's perfect, no matter anybody's opinion. You may not like Tiger as an athlete, you may not like Tiger as a person. But you do have to respect his accomplishments ON THE GOLF COURSE. Like with the Benoit firestorm I'll be starting in a few days, a great professional career marred by their personal choices.
All I'm saying is just let it go people. Look at it this way. Remember back when Bill Clinton was our President? In my opinion he was a great president. Better than the last two we've seen, that's for sure. Yes, we all know the well-documented mistakes that President Clinton made. But he didn't promise to end a war by shipping MORE troops overseas. He didn't try to bail out companies by putting our nation further in debt. He fought hard, He made the best effort to make this the best country in the world, and I think he succeeded.
Tiger Woods has made every effort to make his name respectable on the golf course, but because of those close-minded individuals who think that a person's profession should be judged by what he does OUTSIDE of his chosen profession. Keep it separated folks, plain and simple.
