This is where the medical profession fails, to the corporate money machine, there is only one solution and only one right way, and that is their way and anything else is voodoo. This is blindness and it is all for the purpose of preserving the big money machine. Pharmaceuticals have become big money, not in cures, but on chemical dependency to treat chronic symptoms and on world wide preventative measures like vaccines which give no permanent immunity. The money is really big, big enough that morality comes into question as their machine comes first.
Medicaid and other branches of state and federal governments have become so totally convinced that the current medical philosophy is so right and the only right, they will only pay for the pharmaceutical treatments and many other treatments go unchecked. Just recently our autistic boy developed a nasal infection. We gave him olive leaf extract until we ran out. His nasal infection was clearing up rapidly with the Olive Leaf, but we simply did not have the $6.00 to get another bottle, so we took him to a doctor who gave him a prescription for an antibiotic. The cost was $90 thank you Medicaid, but we would rather have had a bottle of Olive leaf at a cost of $6.00 for a total savings of $84.00, but natural treatments are not supported.
Why are natural treatments not supported? Because they have not been studied. But who does the studies on medical treatments? The Pharmaceutical industry. Now ask yourself this, do you think they would do studies that might prove an effective natural treatment, many of which you can grow in your own yard, if that meant they could lose hundreds of millions of dollars per year on their products? That would be like giving your house to a poor person and moving into a tent, they just won't do it. Even though they could harness nature, they prefer to use chemicals and their own concoctions over natural treatments because too many people would figure it out. The industry goes so far to protect their machine, they will even tell you that herbs and alternative natural treatments do nothing and are possibly even less than placebo. If this is really true, why say it at all, when it doesn't work they will turn to you, unless your fear is if they are not told how ineffective it is, they might try it and it might work, so quickly discourage the practice.
I see this over and over again with Medicaid. Someone with a mild hernia can get some hernia underware at the tune of about $200/pair, and if worn can actually help the body heal the hernia. Nope, won't buy those but they will pay $25,000 - $50,000 for an operation. Suffering back pain? how about a back brace to help hold things in place and relieve the pain. Oh no, can't do that, but they will pay $300/month chronically for serious pain meds. The list is huge, but the states are crying about being out of money, in a word... DUH!!!
Much in our country needs major revamping, and medicaid and the medical field is just one of them. In most states Medicaid supports pharmaceuticals and the states are running out of money. People have had operations with Acupuncture as the only anesthesia, people have been cured of cancer using only plant extracts and herbs, Olive Leaf itself is an anti fungal, antibacterial, and antiviral and it is safer than probably anything the Pharmaceutical companies make using chemicals. We have been lead through advertisement and lobby power that there is only one correct medical field, but all the advertising and lobby power does not a fact make. Medicaid, you are guilty too, and with all the states who are hurting financially, you need to consider seriously opening doors to alternative and less expensive treatments and close the door to the educational systems one track philosophy so medical students can learn so much more than the close minded belief that only the pharmaceutical industry knows what is good for us. Their concern is what is good for them, and that is what is going to make them the most money.
Big industry makes big money which pays big advertising to funnel all the money back to them, and it works because we believe everything we see through advertising and what our leaders tell us. After all, they wouldn't lie to us, would they?
