Medical Mayhem Game Guide - New Facebook Game

Effective Tips and Strategies for Medical Mayhem - the Facebook Hospital Game

Håvard Hegtun
Medical Mayhem is a new Facebook game that puts you in charge of running your own hospital. In Medical Mayhem you have to build out the different sections of your clinic to handle as many patients as quickly and efficiently as possible. The real fun of the game however is not in helping out the sickly, but in visiting your friends' hospitals and cause true Medical Mayhem. The Hippocratic Oath takes a backseat to espionage and stealing your friends patients in this game. Read on for the best Medical Mayhem tips on how to expand your clinic and make money.

The game starts with a tutorial that lets you place basic versions of each section of the clinic. This includes adding a diagnosis room, a sick ward, a pharmacy and an operating room. All these additions start out as level 1 rooms. The real challenge of Medical Mayhem is to chose what rooms to upgrade and when. For every upgrade, patients are moved through that section faster and your profits go up. However, the upgrades quickly become quite expensive, so strategy becomes important right away.

Depending on the reputation of your hospital, patients will make appointments throughout the day. Unfortunately, the appointments are all scheduled at the same time. This means that every 11 hours and 45 minutes when patients show up, your diagnosis room will be overfilled. The faster you can diagnose and treat patients, the better your reputation will be. Of course, this again means even more patients will show up in almost 12 hours.

The key to keeping the patients flowing through your clinic is to upgrade the different areas in he right order. All patients are received in the diagnosis room before they can go anywhere in your hospital. This makes the diagnosis room the natural place to stat the upgrade cycle. Depending on the diagnosis you patients might go to the operating room or the ward or even just to the pharmacy. This makes the diagnosis room the main bottleneck. Upgrade this part of your hospital to level 3 before you start thinking about upgrading other parts of the hospital. After an area has been upgraded to level 3 the upgrades start to get very expensive and should be scheduled for later in the game when the cash flow has been established. Upgrading the remaining parts of your hospital will be a better value.

Upgrade the ward first, then the pharmacy. The operating room is costly to upgrade so leave that for later. It does pay to keep an eye on where you patients are going though. If you click on the receptionist you will get an overview of how many patients are in line at the different sections. If you notice a lot of patients ending up waiting outside a specific room, make that the next room on your upgrade schedule.

No matter how many upgrades you buy, the diagnosis room will still be the major bottle neck. One way to speed up the flow of patients is to invest in research. In your research lab you can spend money on faster registration as well as many other aspects of the game. For now, don't worry about training spies or getting hotter nurses. The best return for your research money will be in faster registration. Having said that, the first research level is so cheap you might as well invest a little money on all the different research areas up to level 1.

The most entertaining aspect of Medical Mayhem is not in upgrading your facilities however. The real fun is in interacting with your friends that also play the game. The social side of Medical Mayhem is more on the anti-social side. When you visit your neighbors you get the option to either help them out by sending over a specialist, or more interestingly a list of ways to sabotage their operation.

You can send over your hottest looking nurse to lure patients over to your own hospital, send a spy to steal trade secrets and money, and many other satisfying ways to mess with your friends. Among my favorites are releasing the hounds to scare away patients, and dumping your trash on your neighbors lot. Make sure you do not buy the trash can. The trash can is expensive and you won't be able to dump trash at your friends place for a full week. Make sure you spend your gold wiser than that. Other delightfully devious actions is to park your car in front of the entrance and even sending a bomb. The focus on more sinister interactions with your neighbors is a welcome change form the super friendly atmosphere of many other social games.

There are still areas in the Medical Mayhem that are under development, but if you follow these tips you are off to a great start to build a profitable hospital and having some fun on your friend's behalf.

If you have unlocked "Stairs of Justice" and the Farm, you are able to plant and pick up Laserfruit Seeds. You can get the Laserfruit seed every 12 hours. So if you login at 8:00am to get a Laserfruit seed, then you can't get another one until after 8:00 pm! Once you plant the Laserfruit seed, it will grow and become Laserfruit. You will be automatically be gifted a Laserfruit seed every 12 hours by the game system. The maturity cycle is 24 hours. Laserfruit can be used on all non-"Path to the Dark Side" hospitals to reduce stolen patients by 10% (a defensive measure). It lasts for 3 hours.

The laserfruit increases patient flow by 10. And you push the laserfruit button to use it. I don't know where this button is...
