There are so many options available in pain relief products today that can be very effective in treating pain. For mild cases of pain - Acetaminophen is the product that works best and that most people use. Tylenol is the most common brand name of this drug, and is fairly safe, if it is taken correctly. Ibuprofen and aspirin are effective pain relievers for those who are experiencing inflammation as well as pain. However, do not overuse these medications, especially Aspirin since it can cause gastric bleeding or upset the stomach with overuse. NSAIDs (non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs) are marketed under names like Aleve, and can offer longer pain relief, but these medications can also have potentially dangerous side effects. Before taking any of these medications for more than a day or two for your pain relief, It would be first a good idea to talk to your doctor.

Hot and cold therapy is a tried and tested method for relieving pain, and the market has come out with some great products in this area of pain relief. Now you can find packs that will turn hot or cold simply by removing them from their packaging and many can be applied to your body as a patch or wrap. Some of these new heat therapies can offer up to eight hours of heat, allowing you to sleep or work more comfortably. You can find heat therapy products for just about any part of your body that needs pain relief.
There are topical medication products such as Bengay that offer pain relief that is absorbed through the skin. These can soothe painful areas as well as bring relief for the discomfort. If you do not like using or have had little results using traditional medications, there are also a number of herbal remedies on the market today. Research has shown that some herbal remedies are very effective in pain relief with out the side effects. One of these natural herbal remedies is willow tree bark extract, it is known as the herbal "aspirin" because it works in much the same way that aspirin does. This substance has been used in some countries as an effective pain relief remedy, and it was the prototype that modern day aspirin is modeled from.
