Medicinal Trees - Chestnut
The chestnut tree, also known as American chestnut or Sweet chestnut, is a fantastic tonic and astringent. Both the inner bark and leaves are used on these medicinal trees and the nuts are a wonderful, nutritious food. The nuts are high in carbohydrates and many essential minerals.
The leaves of these medicinal trees are used to control severe coughing and other irritations of the respiratory tract such as whooping cough. A tablespoon full of the infusion made from chestnut leaves can be given three or four times per day to treat any of the above conditions.
Medicinal Trees - Cinnamon
The cinnamon tree is a powerful aromatic, astringent and stimulant. The oil obtained from the bark and leaves of these medicinal trees are used. In addition to its delightful flavor that most of us are familiar with, the cinnamon tree contains many medicinal properties.
The powdered bark of these medicinal trees is a stimulant and can be used to treat gas and upset stomach. It warms the stomach, expels gas and is a slight laxative. Because of its astringent properties it can be used to treat diarrhea as well as nausea and vomiting.
A large teaspoon of cinnamon in a cup of boiling water is a standard dose to treat the conditions listed above. It should be consumed in small quantities, up to a cup per day to reap the benefits of these medicinal trees.

The cypress tree is another of the most familiar medicinal trees. The cones and nuts of the tree are used as and astringent to stop bleeding. For internal use, a tea is made by placing a few cones in a cup of boiling water and allowing the mixture to steep for about ten minutes. Take about two tablespoons every two hours for bleeding or diarrhea. It will also stop bleeding of the lungs and stomach. It is also used to treat bloody piles, bloody diarrhea and dysentery.
Cypress is also one of the best medicinal trees for treating bleeding gums and pyorrhea. Rinse the mouth with the tea made using the instructions above to treat these conditions. The cypress tea will stop the bleeding almost immediately. There is no better remedy to stop all kinds of bleeding than a tea made from these medicinal trees.
