Medicinal Trees - Elder

The elder tree, also known as sweet elder and elderberry, is one of the most commonly used medicinal trees. The flowers, leaves, bark, roots and berries can all be used with great benefit to the health of men. Every part of the tree is useful.

Tea made from the flowers of these medicinal trees is great for treating eye inflammation. It is also a stimulant, tonic and blood purifier. It is also very good in the treatment of liver and kidney diseases. For skin diseases, the tea can be used to wash the sores and taken internally to help expedite the healing process.

Other uses for the tea made from the flowers of these medicinal trees are the treatment of headaches, colds, rheumatism and epilepsy. It also a slight laxative which makes it a wonderful remedy for constipation. It is used to treat fever, chronic diseases, and used as a poultice for tumors and swelling.

The dry berries of these medicinal trees made into a tea are used to remedy cholera and diarrhea. It can be consumed freely and is good for the flu when combined with other herbs such as peppermint. Elder is also valuable when made into an ointment to treat burns, scalds and all skin diseases.

Medicinal Trees - Eucalyptus

Eucalytpus, also known as bluegum tree, is another of the most well known medicinal trees. Made famous by their use as food for the koalas, these medicinal trees have many healing properties from being antiseptic to antispasmodic and stimulant.

The leaves and bark of these medicinal trees are used to treat fevers, bronchitis and asthma. The oil made from the leaves can be inhaled to treat asthma, sore throat and congestion. The antiseptic properties make it wonderful for use on wounds and ulcers. The oil from these medicinal trees may also be applied directly to the chest and throat to treat cough and sore throat.

Medicinal Trees - Fig

The fig tree is one of the best medicinal trees and has many valuable medicinal properties. Both the fruit and leaves are used for healing purposes.

The fresh fruit of these medicinal trees, when split open and placed on a boil or carbuncle, will bring great relief from the pain and swelling. Figs are also very delicious and are used as a mild laxative. The milk from the un-ripened fruits will remove a wart when applied directly to the affected area.

A tea made from the leaves of these medicinal trees is great to wash old sores, remove age spots from the skin and discoloration caused by bruises. The lukewarm tea dropped in the ear will alleviate the pain caused by an ear infection. It is also great for treating poisonous insect bites, hoarseness, bad breath and sore throat.

Fig tea is one of the greatest substances that can be gained from medicinal trees. It will treat lung problems of all kinds, convulsions, spasms and dropsy. To make a tea from the leaves of these medicinal trees, steep one teaspoonful of the leaves in a cup of boiling water. Drink three cups per day one hour before meals.
