Medieval Times is an eleventh century feast and tournament that was inspired in Spain and is a great place for those who are looking for fun and excitement for the family or with friends. Medieval Times theme is Renaissance, eleventh century Spain with cool sword fights, costumes, and much more. I still remember my eight grade graduation field trip to Medieval Times to visit the Schaumburg castle in Illinois. The Schaumburg castle is elegant and exquisite. It is built with gigantic stones and is unforgettable for its exciting adventures that occurs within the castle. The Medieval Times begins with six knights who puts on a real medieval armor fight in the famous Medieval Times competition to win the title of King's Champion. One of the six knights will be the King's Champion and honored for his outstanding performance. I was graduating from Warren Palm Elementary School and my classmates and I were on the Red and White Knight's Team. The atmosphere was truly very stimulating because of the excitement and the competition among the other groups who were representing the other five knights. The auditorium that we sat in surrounds the battlefield where the knights do their wonderful tournament competition. The Schaumburg castle can seat 1,450 people and the stadium is divided into sections and as my schoolmates entered the auditorium, we sat on the left section of the auditorium. While we were watching our red and white knight fighting his opponents and doing his challenges to win the king's championship, we would cheer loudly for our brave knight who knocks his opponent off their horses or wins a challenge. My best friend and I thought it was cool eating with our hands and you definitely have to eat with your hands; it is a tradition of the eleventh century medieval Spain and we were served a four-course dinner and had on red and white hats to represent our team. Even though our red and white knight was awesome and almost won the tournament, the red knight out beaten him because he was quick and smooth in his challenges and fights that he had faced. There's a lot of swordsmanship, exciting hand-to-hand combat and more to represent the eleventh century Spain of Medieval Times.

Medieval Times also have an excellent bar, Hall of Arms which displays medieval artifacts, and a medieval museum and more. Medieval Times is located at 2001 N. Roselle Rd. Schaumburg, IL 60195.
