Connect with Your True Self

I think a word on meditation is appropriate since many people are taking courses on group meditation. Group meditation is very powerful because the energy generated by a group increases exponentially. However doing this alone is also very beneficial. This is a great practice to do daily, and will help more then you know to calm your nerves and quiet the mind. There is always chatter going on in our minds, most of it is repetitious, useless and serves no purpose. Sitting in stillness will help your mind quite down, you will feel much calmer and have a more positive outlook about everything going on in your life. The more stress and turmoil you have in your life the more you need meditation daily. This takes time to master, but with everyday practice you will learn how to calm down, quiet your mind and get in touch with your inner self, your spirit. Also, be thankful for all of your blessings, with this attitude you will get closer to the divine within. There is always something to be grateful for in all of our lives.

Sitting in stillness and listening in your heart, will strength the god connection and at the same time your soul will get recognized and nurtured. This is a very important activity since your mind will get out of the way and your own god spark takes over. When you connect with the god spark inside yourself then you will connect with the universal god consciousness outside of yourself. The universal consciousness, or god consciousness, or what ever you want to call it, is like a big lake and we are the drops. You can tap into this, ask questions and then just listen.

Sit in a quiet room, make sure to turn off the phone so you are not disturbed. Keep your feet flat on the floor hands on your lap palms facing upward. Close your eyes and just notice your breath going in and out of your lungs. This will help to quiet your mind and keep you focused. When outside thoughts come rushing back into your mind, like the kids or things going on a work or even the grocery list, take notice, then stop it and just go back to breathing. With practice this will get easier to accomplish. With your eyes closed feel your inner spirit, your true self, and how alive it is, then in your minds eye picture the god spark and become one with the Divine. Then just listen. When we pray we are talking, but when we meditate we are listening. Ask a question then just listen and you may be surprised at the answers you get. Like I said this takes time and this might not happen the first time you meditate. Soon you will look forward to taking this time for yourself everyday to just become still and go within.

This god spark goes by many names depending on your belief system. It is known as the pilot light which lights every human on the planet. Meditation is meant to create a fusion between god and human. The spark of god within attains personality through you and you attain god likeness. This is the highest ideal to strife for.

To feel your true self, your spirit within and connect with it, is wonderful and truly powerful. Meditate, and you will get to the core of who you really are!
