Meet AC Contributor Brandon Miller

Y! Lyn
Associated Content Contributor Brandon Miller recently agreed to an interview with me. He joined AC in August of 2009 and is rapidly excelling on the site. In his AC content library, you'll find topics such as online gaming, travel, parenting, education, business, and more. My personal favorite piece by Brandon is "How to Understand and Satisfy Your Customers on Restaurant City for Facebook." I chose this piece because because it touches both on his business side and gaming side and some of the tips could help an actual restaurant worker or owner, not just virtual ones. Read on to find out more about Brandon Miller and don't forget to check out his work after the interview.

How Did You First Find Out About Associated Content?
I just finished college and was looking for some place to do some freelance writing to earn some extra money. While searching online one day, I stumbled across an AC article. The rest is history.

Do You Freelance For a Living or Do Something Else As Well?
I currently work in sales for a print-on-demand marketing company. Freelance writing is just something I do on the side. It is something that I really enjoy so it doesn't seem like a second job.

Tell Us a Little More About Yourself
My wife and I have been married for 5 years. We have a son who just turned 2. We are originally from Ohio, but moved to California last summer. I currently work in sales, but I hope to someday work in advertising.

Do You Feel Freelance Writing Will Help You Succeed in Other Career Goals?
Absolutely! I hope to someday work in advertising as a copywriter. I also plan to pursue my Masters in Communication. I feel that freelance writing has given me the opportunity to strengthen my writing and communication skills as I work toward these goals.

What is Your Favorite Topic to Read About on AC?
I love reading about politics. It is interesting to see how others view what goes on in out country and around the world.

What is Your Favorite Topic to Write About and Why?
I love writing about any topic that pertains to video gaming. I have a small addiction to online gaming and love to play my Xbox 360. It is something that I can relate to and love providing tips that will help other players.

What is the Most Meaningful Piece of Content You've Published With AC and Why?

While I do like writing about video games, my favorite piece is:

Vacation Ideas for Kids: Make a Vacation Memory Box

Family is really important to me. This article shows one way that my parents and I connected during family vacations. I feel that this can provide a great idea for other parents.

Name 3 Other Favorites that You Have Published at AC

The Best and Worst of Team Mascots

Free Resources and Tools for Starting a Small Business

Personal Review of the HP Mini 110-1030NR

Have You Learned Anything Important From Publishing at AC?
I have a degree in Marketing. Unfortunately, one of the topics that they only briefly touched on was SEO. I am very thankful for all of the SEO advice from all of the great writers on AC.

Is There Anything Else You'd Like to Add?
I would like to say thank you to everyone on AC who has been so nice, helpful, and supportive. You guys are awesome!!!
