Meet "Dancing with the Stars" Contestant Ralph Macchio

You may remember Ralph Macchio from his glory days of "Karate Kid." Now, Danielson is all grown up and ready to put his dancing shoes on for America.

When it was announced that Ralph was going to be a contestant on this seasons DWTS all of twitter lit up with tweets about the star. Many fans said that they would definitely have to watch the show now that Danielson, the nick name he was given in the "Karate Kid" movies, in which he played the legendary Daniel LaRusso. Many other fans wondered if there would be any way that he could work his famous "Crane Pose" into a dance number.

Macchio was born on November 4, 1961. He got his first real break into television playing on the popular hit family show: "Eight is Enough." In 1984, the first "Karate Kid" movie was released. The movie became such a success that it had to sequels and Ralph became a teen idol during the 1980's.

Since then Ralph has appeared in some movies such as: "My Cousin Vinnie" and "Naked and New York."

In 2008, he had a small role on the ABC hit show "Ugly Betty. Last season, he starred in one episode of the USA hit show "Psych."

Now, he will has agreed to put on his dancing shoes and be on the popular and much anticipated show "Dancing with the Stars", Season 12. Reports are saying that pro dancer Karina Smirnoff will be his partner and dance teacher.

"DWTS" will premier on March 21, at 8 p.m. ET, on ABC.
