Meet Elizabeth "Lizzie" Olsen, Sister of the Olsen Twins and the Newest Star to Hit Hollywood

After turning heads and making the grade at the recent Sundance Film Festival, Elizabeth Olsen is now known as a talented actress who is soaring up the scale of stardom and Hollywood.

Having been hailed the "It Girl" at Sundance, Elizabeth Olsen, who is the younger sister of Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, has been getting lots of attention from her roles in two movies to be released later this year. Elizabeth has already landed her next role opposite actor Robert De Niro in a new thriller titled "Red Lights."

The two movies that captured the attention of producers and directors and the fans at the Sundance Festival are "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and "Silent House." Olsen had starring roles in each movie, the first a thriller, and second one a horror movie.

In "Martha Marcy May Marlene" Elizabeth Olsen plays the role of Martha in this thriller where she is trying to escape the painful memories of a cult she once belonged to. Olsen has been acclaimed for her acting abilities in this film and producing skills of an accomplished actress.

"Silent House" is a horror flick in which Elizabeth plays the role of Sarah, a young lady tormented by nightmares, driving her to madness.

Elizabeth Olsen will also star in another post-production film titled "Peace, Love & Misunderstanding." She plays the role of Zoe, a teenager who will meet her "hippie" grandmother, played by Jane Fonda, for the very first time. This movie will also be released in 2011.

"Red Lights" starring Robert De Niro will be filmed during school break. The thriller will be directed by Rodrigo Cortes and casts her as a psychology student, a role she plays in real life at New York University. Could her studies be a part of the key as to why she is pulling off these roles so successfully? Elizabeth plans to continue her college studies and will only accept movie roles if filming can be done during breaks or in between semesters.

Not exactly new to the screen, Elizabeth spent hours of her time after school on the set of her sisters, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen's many adventures. The Olsen twins starred on "Full House" playing a dual role of Michelle Tanner. Later they starred in their own video series before landing roles in other movies as teenagers. The Olsen twins have also been successful in launching their own fashion line of clothing.

Elizabeth Olsen had bit parts in several of her twin sister's videos during childhood. She is now taking acting lessons in New York and had a role on Broadway's production of "Impressionism" as an understudy last year.

Elizabeth Olsen has not taken advantage of her twin sister's celebrity status. Instead, she has been living her own life and making a name for herself that she earned all by herself. She wasn't known to be related to the Olsen twins at college until the second semester. With several upcoming movies to be released in 2011, Elizabeth Olsen will be making a name for herself.

Elizabeth is now ready to be in the public light and that is a good thing, because the media has now caught on and up to one of Hollywood's next big stars!
