Meet Mr. Wonderful - Online Dating and the Single Mom Part 3

Is This Really as Good as it Gets?

This is the last installment of my three part series of the online dating and the single mom. I of course have so many stories that would floor you to no end. This has been quite a ride. Some good and some just head scratching strange. I would by no account tell you I am an expert dater. But I can tell you that I do have some experience in it. I have had some really great dates and a few that weren't so good.

Let me tell you about one of the most romantic dates I have ever had, that seriously ended on one strange note. Meet" Mr. Wonderful," a limousine company owner. We will call this one Mr. W. He was probably one of the most romantic guys I have ever gone out with. Now let me tell you out of most of the guys I have dated this one actually had planned this date down to a tee. He called me a few days prior to our meeting and asked me where I would be interested in going for dinner. I told him I would love to go to my favorite restaurant in Laguna Beach. It sits right on the sand, very close to the ocean's water. It is beautiful and quite romantic.

When we met he was gorgeous, he was tall and handsome. He smelled wonderful and dressed nice. He picked me up in one of his Lincoln Town Cars. He surprised me with some beautiful red roses.

The drive was beautiful, like always heading up to Laguna. The sky was clear, and the stars were out. It was a cold night in December. I was nervous the entire time and actually a little giggly like a little school girl next to Mr. W. He was just so perfect in my eyes. We went to dinner, it sat right on the ocean, and you could hear the waves crashing as you ate by candlelight. The restaurant sat inside a beautiful hotel. It was cold at this time of year. The entire property was decorated for Christmas. It was amazing. We finished dinner and it was wonderful. I felt as though Mr. W had swept me off my feet.

Mr. W took me outside to the atrium of the hotel; it had a beautiful view of the ocean. It was cold and we held onto one another. There was Christmas music playing softly and tiny white lights were strewn through the trees. Mr. Wonderful held onto me and started slow dancing with me. It was one of the most romantic times in my life. I felt like I was in one of those old black and white movies that I used to watch as a little girl.

We left a little while later and he took me to this resort hotel down the road, near the ocean. I was curious as to why, but he said we would have a drink at the hotel bar. We did this for awhile and he told me he had a surprise for me. So I followed him to this huge suite in one of the most luxurious hotels here in Southern California. It was beautiful. He had the staff come in and put candles all around the room. There were rose petals all over the bed. I thought to myself. This is strange, as soft music played in the background. It made me a little uncomfortable because this was the first night we had met.

Then Mr. Wonderful asked me to wait while he proceeded to the restroom. I sat and waited, thinking to myself what a sly dog this guy is. He then came out and my mouth fell open. Mr. Wonderful came out of the restroom and was completely naked. I was in shock. I didn't even know what to say. I was speechless. He asked me to come over and hold him. I told him to go put on some clothes. How could a perfect night, be spoiled by something like this? How could he just assume that I was going to go along with this? I was mad. I asked him to take me home and he was put off by me asking him to do such a thing.

He called a driver from the limo company that he owned and had them come pick me up. So, there I was standing in the valet parking lot; waiting for a random limo to pick me up. As I sat in this limo driving home I thought, to myself how funny this whole night had been. Here was this beautiful night, this guy that was gorgeous and it was all over just like that. The phone rang inside the limo as I was headed home. It was him. He asked me if I would be willing to reconsider, and at this point I was so upset that I refused and we never spoke again.

I'm sorry, Dacia, you had such a bad time with your dates, but I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants! How stupid can some men be? Of course, you don't want to hear about all the women someone has dated. What did this guy think? You would say how wonderful that was? And certainly you're going to see the man, so why send a phony picture? Why lie if you know the woman is going to see you? I mean, that's just plain stupid. And parading around naked? What did this guy think? Just because he met you online you are a hooker? I know these dates weren't funny at the time, Dacia, but you have to admit they make some pretty funny stories now. Also a warning to anyone looking for online dates.

Loved the series. Great job, Dacia. I thought I met my true love online, had a 2-1/2 yr. relationship with him. HE WAS MARRIED!!! I didn't try again; not worth it; I'm too old. You and Morgan are a gift to every person you touch. Love, Aunt Sherry

Guys like this who "jump the gun" don't deserve a second chance. He had no respect for you at all, and never would have.

Lol. This is my favorite. As my daughter would say this guy is a loser, lol.

Playa! Their "rule" is to "get some" on the third date, but I guess this one was so full of conceit he thought he could do it on one. Sad.
