Meet Sfharper: A Closer Look at this AC Content Producer

Donald Pennington
Sheri Fresonke Harper-sfharper
Date of Interview: 04/08/2008
I'm so glad to tell you about this lady whose motto is "Dying is easy...Choose how to live your life." It appears to be her prime directive in her work of inspiration about the Human Spirit, survival under trying times, and the ability to do great things.

DP: Please tell us a little about yourself; who you are, where you're from, etc.,:

I'm Sheri Fresonke Harper, sfharper everywhere. I'm from the state of Washington and have lived here most my life. I'm quiet, introverted, but have a desire to change the world a tiny bit.

DP: What type of personality type would you say you are?

I'm a Taurus dirt girl and like to experience the world. I'm also an INTJ which makes me a visionary, someone that likes to weave pieces of reality together as something new.

DP: Please share with us a story about your favorite pet.

My favorite cat was a Russian Blue and not afraid of anything. One time he even tried to take on one of the deer that visited our yard. I think he had memories of his life as a Lion.

DP: What do you like to read?

I'm afraid I have no taste, I like to read everything. My favorite though is science fiction because I believe in the future and that women shouldn't be afraid of math or science.

(I'm making sure my daughters read this interview.-DP)

DP: What was/is your favorite subject in school?

I read this story when I was a kid about an immigrant girl who didn't have much of anything but she was so shocked and pleased to go to school for free now that she lived in the US. In the end she gets oranges for Christmas and her absolute delight stuck with me to this day. I wanted to learn and know everything, but my favorites were history and physics.

DP: What kind of things make you sad?

When the defenseless have no way to save themselves.

DP: What have you done in life that you're the proudest of?

When I prayed that I'd live through college so I'd see my diploma I thought that would be it, but now, I'm writing novels about things I believe in and they are my best work to date.

DP: What would you call the 'dream vacation?'

My husband and I have two: one in which we just relax and escape and one in which we have an adventure. I prefer the latter but sometimes desperately need the former.

DP: If you could really truly get just ONE thing that you wish for; what would it be?

I'd like to be liked for who I am.

DP: What is your earliest memory? Please describe.

My sister and I (we were 4 and 2 years old) were playing superman behind the couch while my dad watched the football game. My sister was superman and she said a naughty word, so she decided to wash her mouth out with soap so she picked up the live end of an extension cord and burned her mouth really bad.

DP: First word to pop into your mind please; what do you think of when I say: 'power?' Be honest.

I'm not sure whether it was gold or old but they both work.

DP: How long have you been writing?

Since they taught me in 1st grade. I wrote my first short story that got laughs in 7th grade. I started my first novel 17 years ago then life interfered but I finished it 2.5 years ago, after taking a class that got me started again 6.5 years ago.

DP: If you could improve AC in any one way; what would it be?

Response time is a little bit slow, especially for people with a lot of articles and during high use times. I love a fast internet.

DP: What made you choose AC?

They pay. There's a lot of places that play games with writers with the intent that people work for them then welch on paying. That shows an incredible lack of respect.

DP: Which genre do you prefer to work in?

Novels.

(??-DP)

DP: Please tell us some of your favorite AC titles.

My favorite poem: Milk Carton Race
My favorite article: Florida Crabs

DP: What do you want your legacy to be?

Novels that stand the test of time.

DP: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Thank you, Donald, for taking the time to introduce me.

(Oh I don't mind. It's all based on pure self-centeredness.-DP)

sfharper is waiting to meet you. You'll be inspired by her work and by her!
