With so many people in one building flocking to see one person, how impersonal this must be? The only way the minister even knows that you are in attendance is because he receives your money (Ka Ching!) writing a check makes it more personal, I suppose.
Worship in these mega Churches is like attending a rock, R & B or pop concert since the acoustics, sound is amplified with large PA systems and mixing desks. Words to hymns and songs are projected on screens, reducing reliance on the hymnals found in the pews of more traditional churches. Many newer churches use theater-style individual chairs instead of pews. Hhhmm the more relaxed you become, the more money you will tend to give I suppose.
Many are headed on started by a single pastor who combines engaging sermons with his own ideologies, rarely using the bible, using shouting sometimes to add to the drama. He usually oversees all budget decisions and of course his salary is top priority.
