Megaman Zero Review

John West
The Megaman Zero series is a continuation of the Megaman series, it is for the GBA. It stars a fan favorite supporting character from the Megaman X games named Zero, who is a red, long haired swordsman.

The first Megaman Zero game is in many ways my favorite. It gives off a feeling of desperation, hopelessness and it gives you the feeling that the fate of the whole sad-sack world rests on your shoulders. The technology is old and used, as are you, an ancient robot created 300 years ago by a mad man named Dr. Wily. The graphics are colorful and atmospheric and the music is rockin'.

The gameplay itself is fast paced and insanely punishing to those who aren't prepared for the challenge, and that's what makes it so good. It is the perfect game to test and develop your skills. Acing this game, especially with all S ranks, like I did, is proof of your skills in the realm of 2D platformers.

The story to this and the later games is pretty... Odd. But these games aren't made for the stories surrounding them, the stories just add dramatic effect to each and every fight against an epic, challenging boss.

If you're into 2D platformers, I recommend this game.
