Megan Fox--Superstar

Superstar Megan Fox

Faye Fairley
Megan Denise Fox was raised Roman Catholic by her mother and stepfather. Her parents had divorced when she was very young; her mother remarried. She was born in Oak Ridge TN. Megan was not allowed to have any friends come to her house, nor was she allowed to have a boyfriend. As soon as she was old enough to earn money of her own, she moved out of her mother's home.

By age five, in Kingston TN, Megan was already training in drama and dance. She was also in chorus in her grammar school. Megan was also swimming on the swim team. The family moved to St Petersburg, FL, and Megan continued her training. When she was thirteen, she was modeling, and won several awards at the 1999 American Modeling and Talent Convention in Hilton Head, South Carolina. She attended Lucie West Centennial High School, but she tested out at age 17, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams in entertainment.

Megan never made it a secret that she was often picked on in school. She stated that she often ate lunch in the bathroom to stay away from those who pelted her with ketchup packets. She thought everyone hated her in high school because of her aggressive personality. Megan hated school, and was not a believer in formal education.

Fox made her acting debut at sixteen years of age, in a 2001 film called "Holiday in the Sun". She portrayed a spoiled heiress, and rival of Alex Stewart. The following year, she landed a lead role as Ione Starr on the TV series "Ocean Ave." During the two seasons of the series, she appeared in 122 one hour episodes. She guest starred on "What I Like About You in 2002. Fox guest starred on "Two and a Half Men" during the same year she made her film debut in "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen." She gained a role on the ABC sitcom "Hope and Faith."

Fox won the lead female role of Mikaela Banes in the 2007 live action film "Transformers". She played the love interest of Shia LaBeouf's character Sam Witwicky. For this performance, Fox was nominated for an MTV Movie Award in the category of "Breakthrough Performance." She was also nominated for three Teen Choice Awards in the category of "Choice Movie Actress: Action Adventure", "Choice Movie Breakout Female", and "Choice Movie Liplock". She has signed on for two more "Transformers" sequels. In 2007 she was also cast in a minor role in "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People", with Jeff Bridges, Simon Pegg, and Kirsten Dunst.

During the Transformer sequel, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", there was some controversy abut Fox's appearance on the movie. Michael Bay, the director, ordered Fox to gain 10 pounds. The movie premiered in 2009 in Tokyo, Japan, then worldwide sixteen days later.

Fox had her first lead role in the movie "Jennifer's Body". She played Jennifer Check, a girl possessed by a demon in a Minnesota farming town.
Megan began filming "Jonah Hex" in 2009. In this movie, she portrays a gun wielding beauty. She has described her appearance as a cameo appearance. In April 2009, Fox signed on to star as the lead female in the 2011 film "The Crossing." This film is about a young couple who get caught up in a drug scheme during their vacation. It was reported by Variety that Fox is set to star as the lead role of Aspen Matthews in the comic books "Fathom." Fathom is currently in pre production. Fox will not reprise her role in "Transformers 3."

Fox told The Times that "if you want your girls to feel strong and intelligent and be outspoken and fight for what they think is right, then I want to be that type of role model, yeah." Megan likes to portray a character less sexualized than that of Mikaela Banes, whom she portrays in the "Transformers film series."

Megan Fox has been on the covers of many magazines. She was in Maxim in 2007; in 2008 she was on Cosmo Girl. The list includes: USA Weekend, Esquire, Empire, Entertainment Weekly, and ELLE.

Fox has been involved with actor Brian Austin Green since 2004. They met on the set of "Hope & Faith" when she was 18, and he was 30. They got engaged in 2006, and then broke off the engagement in 2009. They became engaged again in June 2010. They married on June 24 of 2010. It was a private wedding in Hawaii.

Megan has stated more than once about being insecure with low self-esteem. She also has a fear of flying, and has had to come up with different ways to avoid panic attacks. She stated that she listens to Britney Spears songs, and it helps.

Fox has eight known tattoos: her ex-fiancé's name "Brian" is on her lower hip, a picture of Marilyn Monroe's face is on her right forearm, one on her right shoulder reads "We will all laugh at gilded butterflies"(this line was taken from William Shakespeare's play King Lear). She has a yin and yang on her left inner wrist. On her neck is a Chinese word for "strength". Above her right ankle is a crescent moon overlapping a five pointed star. On the left side of her rib cage, there is a poem "there once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART". Megan has recently added a tattoo on the right side of her rib cage; it is a quote by Friedrich Nietzsche that reads "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music". This phrase might mean more to Megan than just a tattoo.
