Megan Joy's Performance of 'Turn the Lights Down Low' Will Send Her Home Tomorrow

This week, the nine remaining American Idol contestants were given a wide range of song choices from iTunes most popular downloaded songs and American Top 40. Out of the thousands of songs to pick from, Megan Joy chose to perform Turn The Lights Down Low originally performed by Bob Marley and later performed by Lauren Hill. Megan took the stage with her in a twisted and messy looking style and wearing tons of clunky necklaces. She delivered a throaty and bluesy version of the song while standing in front of a microphone reminiscent of a 1950s blues club singer. For the second week in a row, the judges were not impressed with her performance.

Kara said, "I like you a lot, but I think you are in trouble tonight. That was not the right song choice." Paula said, "You need to take us by surprise and change your style and perform a vulnerable ballad sitting on a stool with a spotlight shining on you." Randy said, "It was like watching paint dry." Simon, mincing no words said, "The song was boring, indulgent, monotonous and no one will like this song." Megan told Ryan that no matter what the judges said, she like her performance and her song.

Megan also received harsh criticism last week from the judges for her performance of Stevie Wonder's For Once In My Life. The judges hated the song and Simon told her she was in serious trouble. But, somehow Megan was not in the bottom three last week. It looks like Megan's run of good is over and she will be singing her last song tomorrow night. Tune in at 9:00 PM EST on FOX for the live results and a performance from last year's American Idol winner, David Cook and a performance by Lady Gaga.

I hope they do eliminate her. Then I can *click* and not watch the rest of the season.
