"Megan Wants a Millionaire" Canceled: The Winner Is... Ryan Jenkins?

Rumors Swirl Around "Megan Wants a Millionaire" After it is Canceled -- Who is the Winner?

Saul Relative
There is a rumor running the internet that Ryan Alexander Jenkins was actually the winner on "Megan Wants A Millionaire," the VH1 reality show that the now prime suspect in the murder of Jasmine Fiore starred in. VH1 announced this week that it was canceling the airing of the show (it was going into its fourth week and Ryan Jenkins was still among the contenders for the millionaire who would have Megan Hauserman as his "trophy wife"), leaving viewers to wonder who ultimately became the "Megan Wants A Millionaire" winner. Many disagreed with the suspension (postponement, cancellation) at the time, already hooked on the show's storyline and contest. But at the time, Ryan Jenkins was just a "person of interest" in the investigation into the killing of Jasmine Fiore. Curiosity built and people simply wanted to know who the "Megan Wants A Millionaire" winner actually was. Details of the killing of Jasmine Fiore were not made public at the beginning, just that she was found naked and folded into a suitcase and thrown into a dumpster in Buena Park, California. But as the week wore on and details emerged about the man Ryan Alexander Jenkins and his relationship with his wife, plus his disappearance and apparent fleeing to Canada (where he is originally from), the cancellation of "Megan Wants A Millionaire" just might be seen as the right avenue for VH1 to take.

"Megan Wants A Millionaire" canceled or not, people still want to know who the winner was. TMZ and other media outlets have reported the Ryan Jenkins went to Las Vegas shortly after being tossed from the show, which some have taken to mean that he did not win. The supposition that he did not win stems from the fact that the filming of "Megan Wants A Millionaire" occurred in February and March, and it was on that Las Vegas trip that he met his future wife, Jasmine Fiore, at a Hawaiian tropic event. The two were married two days after they met, on March 18.

The premise of the reality show "Megan Wants A Millionaire" was for a bunch of guys to compete to marry Megan Hauserman as their trophy wife. Popular reasoning has it that if Ryan Jenkins had won, he would have married Megan Hauserman and not have went to Las Vegas and subsequently married Jasmine Fiore. So this would mean that he lost in the contest for Megan Hauserman's hand.

Not necessarily. Many times on these dating or relationship-oriented "reality shows," things do not turn out as planned, because reality isn't a scripted show. Sometimes the "winner" turns out to be a loser in the eyes of the bachelor or bachelorette that chose them. Sometimes the prize, the chooser, the selector, is simply on the show for the show's sake, not for any real relationship or true marital commitment, something not revealed until the very end. Sometimes there are relationships of varying lengths. And there is the "success story" of "The Bachelorette", where Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter were married, are still married, and now have two children.

So...

Was Ryan Jenkins the actual "Megan Wants A Millionaire" winner? If he was, it stands to reason why VH1 pulled the show. In light of Ryan Jenkins' fugitive status, even more so. His continued success on the show being run congruently with coverage of the ongoing investigation into the death of his wife, Jasmine Fiore, could have been a potential public relations nightmare. It most likely would have proved a ratings winner, though, especially with the curious tuning in to watch the man who might have later became a murderer woo another beautiful woman.

But VH1 isn't talking. About "Megan Wants A Millionaire." About the winner. About Megan Hauserman. About Ryan Jenkins.

Still, Ryan Jenkins isn't the only person that is being talked about as the winner (and he is often mentioned as a runner-up as well). According to Reality Tea, T. J. Diab has been named as a possible winner of "Megan Wants A Millionaire" as well.

But, again, VH1 isn't talking. So, unless some celebrity gossip site can get the lowdown on who actually won (smart money is on TMZ), the winner will not be known until the shows are aired or are released on DVD.

One just knows that Ryan Jenkins will be featured on "America's Most Wanted," if he hasn't surrendered to authorities by then (a warrant for his arrest was granted to the Buena Park Police Department Thursday and American and Canadian authorities are searching for him). Perhaps News Corp. (who owns Fox Television's "America's Most Wanted") and Viacom (who owns VH1's "Megan Wants A Millionaire") could come to an agreement and release a tandem set once the Ryan Jenkins drama has ended. The could release the reality show coupled with a documentary, hosted of course by John Walsh, called "Megan's Most Wanted Millionaire." That way, everyone gets to be a winner.

Except for Ryan Jenkins, who might end up being the biggest loser of all...

Uh, there is no innocent 'til proven guilty, 'cause the bastard hanged himself, and yes, as in committed suicide. Oops.

I LOLed at all of this.

I bet he was the winner; Hauserman is just dumb enough to pick a dangerous sociopath. Hey, like calls to like as they say.

Besides, when has a "reality" show couple ever stayed together? It isn't any stretch that he would go directly to Vegas and marry some other bimbo.

I hope they do air it or it gets leaked.

Finally VH1 shows some class! I hope they go back to what they were before they let 51 Minds turn the network into a joke. Reality shows are out of hand and I hope this unfortunate occurance puts an end to reality shows all together. What a sick and twisted story. Poor girl...
