Meghan McCain Twitter Tank Top Photo to End McCain Twittering?

Robert Dougherty
Meghan McCain's Twitter is one of her many outreaches to the world, but Meghan McCain and Twitter may have just broken up. A Meghan McCain Twitter tank top photo posted last night has led to a so-called "Twitter breakdown" and may led Meghan McCain to give up Twitter. After posting a somewhat revealing Twitter photo that showed off her figure and chest, Meghan McCain received several negative comments about her weight, which she responded to and then some.

The Meghan McCain Twitter tank top photo was brought on by McCain posting a picture of her "spontaneous night in." The daughter of John McCain was reading a book by Andy Warhol, and wearing a tank top that left little to the imagination. Several Twitter followers made negative comments about this, ranging from her cleavage to her weight.

At that point, Meghan McCain's Twitter page was nearly discontinued then and there. Her remaining Twits for the night attacked her followers and accused them of thinking she was a "slut." She then promised to get the f**k off of Twitter, thanked her supporters, and plugged her column for the Daily Beast.

Meghan McCain leaving Twitter isn't set in stone, as she said she would sleep on it before deleting the account. As of now, the Meghan McCain Twitter page is still up, and so is the tank top photo. Since both the Twitter page and tank top snapshot is getting tons of hits, and putting McCain on top of online searches, she may wind up reconsidering her stance.

Meghan McCain's Twitter, and her pictures, are just another example of how John McCain's daughter does things much differently than her father. Meghan has hung out with several Hollywood party girls that Republicans don't usually make contact with, and her policies are a bit more liberal than her father's. In fact, a picture of Meghan opposing Prop 8 is featured on her Twitter page.

McCain has used social networking and the Internet to a greater extent than some of her father's grown up friends, but that came back to bite her last night. But since the McCain tank top photo is now the hottest thing online, the initial backlash may have faded. However, the attention may be as much for her "Twitter breakdown" as a user called it, than for the photo itself.

For now, the Meghan McCain Twitter page remains visible, and now the Internet is on the edge of its seat waiting to see what she Twits next.

I'm willing to bet that 99% of those comments were made by a bunch of drunken liberal-college frat boys who wanted to make themselves look good by attacking ANYONE associated with the Republican Party.

This is such a stupid thing for people to be upset about. The girl did nothing wrong.
