Meininger Art Supplies of Denver, Colorado: An Amazing Haven for Artists
A Regular Garden of Eden for Artists, Art Enthusiasts and Crafters!
According to the official website, Meininger has been family owned since 1881. With two additional locations in Colorado Springs and Boulder, the shops offer over 80,000 art and craft supplies for you to peruse at your leisure. I was impressed by the amazing sales offered during my visit-up to 70% off canvases and supplies nearly sold-out entirely-and the helpful employees seemed genuinely interested in helping me find exactly what I needed. Oil paints and supplies were on the agenda that day, in addition to sketch pads, charcoal and extra canvases; I was lucky to make it out alive, considering the buffet table of artistic goodies.
The Meininger online store is a wonderful place to start your shopping spree, with 22 categories to choose from. You can purchase a gift card, check the balance of a gift card, or check the creative gift guide for inspired ideas in several price ranges. The Education Center has tons of information on classes and workshops currently being offered at Meininger, and the options are tremendous. Don't know how to paint? No problem! You can join a free lecture and demonstration, or attend a $75 monotype for painting workshop.
Information about free gifts available with purchases is listed on the website, making it that much easier to find suburb deals. The free e-newsletter will keep you updated on upcoming sales, events, new products and other highly tempting tidbits of information designed to encourage your artistic expression-and get you into the store. And just let me warn you, once you walk through those purple and glass doors into this artist's Garden of Eden, you are highly unlikely to leave without finding something you can't live without!
Ultimately, the Meininger Art Supplies Store lived up to everything I hoped it would, and I would highly recommend it to both experienced artists and fledgling newcomers. There is truly something for everyone, located conveniently at 499 Broadway, and I challenge anyone to visit Meininger and not find something which inspires them to express themselves and create.
