Mel Gibson Over the Edge?

Max Mad Actor Causing His Own Apocolypse

Jan Peterson
After all the recent bad press he's been getting, Mel Gibson may have completely burnt out, leaving his fans fed-up. As more information surfaces about his relationship and recent run-in with his ex-girl friend, Oksana Grigorieva, Gibson's image will undoubtedly have permanent scars.

Gibson Accused of Domestic Violence

Radaronline.com recently posted a disturbing 8-minute conversation in an article entitled, "Mel Gibson Admits Hitting Oskana - Threatens to Kill Her", which is believed to be between Gibson and his ex-girlfriend, and is filled with Mel's favorite F-word. In the exchange, Gibson is accused by Grigorieva of hitting her in the face, with Gibson responding, "and you (bleeping) deserved it!" During the tirade, he also threatens to kill her twice, saying things like ""You need a (bleeping) bat in the side of the head" and that he'll "put her in a (bleeping) rose garden".

As outlined in their article on Wonderwall.com, "New Mel tape mentions allegedly hitting girlfriend", Gibson and Grigorieva have been battling over custody of their daughter in the Los Angeles court system, and Gibson was accused of domestic violence on July 5th by Oskana, which resulted in the L.A. County Sheriff Department opening an investigation.

Former Mel Gibson Rants

The ugliness seems to be piling on for the formerly idolized star. Gibson's stupid remarks and uncontrollable rants over the years have pushed his reputation on a downhill slide that seems to be gaining speed. A recap:

-In 1991, Gibson made comments that were published in a Spanish Newspaper that were accused by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) as being anti-gay. A few years later, in a 1999 interview, he blamed his unsavory comments on the Vodka he had been drinking.

-In 2006, Gibson made the headlines after he was arrested for drunk driving with a breath-alcohol level of .12% (legal limit is .08%), after which he made anti-Semitic comments to the Sheriff's Deputy, James Mee. LA Times wrote in their October 6, 2009 article, "Mel Gibson's 2006 drunk driving conviction expunged", that Gibson followed up on his initial insulting comments to the officer by threatening him, saying he "owned Malibu" and would "get even" with the deputy. The charges were eventually erased from his record after Gibson completed the terms of his probation.

-Gibson caused media frenzy just last week, over shocking comments he made to his girlfriend about her provacative clothing, debasing her by saying she deserved getting raped, and then using the the "N" word.

-Also in July this year, Mel allegedly accused one of his employees of being an illegal alien, calling him a "wetback" and threatening to turn him in to immigration authorities.

Alcohol appears to be Gibson's nemesis, since most of his disgusting behavior has been made while under the influence. After years of being a Mel Gibson fan, I am sad. I think it's obvious that he lost a chunk of his star quality with each stupid, racist remark he has made over the years. And now after displaying such shocking and violent behavior, Mel Gibson just might be beyond earning back his fan base, even with a lengthy stay at some expensive Malibu Rehab center.

Life is tough on men who create 7 children and then screw around behind their mother's back.

    Snif, snif.....

    Anti-Semitic, not anti-semantic.

It's sad to see an admired actor sink so low! I truly believe he needs professional intervention at this point if not he will totally distroy any career he has left if not his life. Sad, indeed!

This woman has no ethics or morals. She was just looking for a wealthy man to trap. Neither one of them should have custody of a monkey. Mel should have kept his pants zipped.

Wow, sorry to hear... Mel's always been one of my favorites.

None of this surprises me because it is common knowledge that his father is a neo-Nazi and a Holocaust denier, and he's known to have an excellent relationship with his father. That kind of stuff rubs off, and he's just an angry, hateful, bigot, plain and simple - with or without booze. Alcohol won't make you do or say things you don't believe in already (just like hypnosis can't make you do things you are instinctively morally opposed to doing), it only brings to the surface things you're hiding from the world. So don't blame it on the booze, the guy is a bad egg deep down, and nothing - not rehab and not any other type of therapy - will ever change that.

It's a sad situation anytime a child is involved. As always there will be more to this story when all is said and done.

Those tapes are strange because if someone was irate and cussing you how can a person on the other end of the phone remain so pleasantly calm? I know I could not be pleasant calm. I would hang up, call the police, or become irate myself. The calls sound like messages on an answering machine and she entered her dialogue after the fact.

Does nobody remember him filing for custody a few weeks ago because of her neglect? I remember hearing about or reading about it. Now this happens! Something smells!!!!

I thought this was a country of innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until proven innocent.
