Mel Gibson's Soon to Be Ex-wife, Robyn Gibson, Says Mel Never Abused Her or Their Seven Children

Accusations of racist rants, spouse, child and substance abuse have besieged Mel Gibson of late. Support for Mel Gibson, however, is coming from a surprising camp-his soon to be ex-wife, Robyn Gibson.

The actor and director is perhaps most famous for the Mad Max series of movies, and as an actor and director for the film Braveheart. As a director he has also been responsible for some controversial film choices that had critics, too, claiming he was racist.

Today, however, a bitter custody battle between Mel Gibson and his former girlfriend, Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva is playing out on the World Wide Web, over their now eight month old daughter, providing more intrigue, suspense and drama than a soap opera. The estranged couple have resorted to taking out restraining orders against each other.

Over the past week, damning audio tapes of conversations between a man and a woman purported to be Mel Gibson and his former girlfriend Oskana Grigoreva, have also been appeared via radar.com online. The supposed Mel Gibson rants contain, foul language, derogatory comments about Oskana's mental health and blatant threats against her, including a threat to burn her house down.

These audio sound bytes have created a flurry of internet traffic. But it took, days for anyone to even consider that they may have been faked or at least edited.

Oskana, also allowed her twelve year old son, with former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton, to be interviewed today over the January 6 incident that led to Oskana Grigorieva losing the veneers on her two front teeth and suffering facial bruising.

The Oskana camp has been prolific in dealing with the press, while Mel Gibson, it appears, has gone to ground and remained silent on the flurry of damning evidence against him being made public.

While the LA Police Department investigates the domestic violence allegations levied against the actor and Director, Mel Gibson has received support from an unlikely source. His soon to be ex-wife, Robyn Gibson.

Robyn Gibson is reported to have provided a sworn statement to the judge that in their 28 years of marriage, Mel Gibson never abused her or their seven children together. This is a powerful declaration from Mel Gibson's soon to be ex-wife. Robyn Gibson went as far to say that Mel was a "wonderful and loving" father.

On Monday, Long time friend, and co-host of the View, Whoppi Goldberg also spoke out in defense of her friend, stating that he was definitely not racist.

Support for Mel Gibson seems to be sparse, but what support is coming to light, has credibility. Credibility yet to be assigned to any of the allegations Oskana Grigorieva has made. The evidence she has so far surfaced, dare we say, leaked in the form of audio rants, also has some questioning their authenticity.

Only time will tell, if Mel Gibson is racist and abusive or Oskana Grigoreiva is just taking advantage of the actors prior unfortunate history with alcohol and public rants.
