Meli Cafe & Juice Bar Now Open

After waiting for months for Meli Cafe & Juice Bar to open, it finally did, in December of 2010. My boyfriend and I wanted to check Meli Cafe out, located at 540 North Wells Street in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, on opening day, but we were unable to, so we waited until January 8, 2011.

We could not wait to try it because we love their other location in Greektown. When we got there for brunch, we were surprised at how spacious it was, but we weren't surprised at how busy it was.

I ordered the spinach and feta omelet, which was fresh and delicious, and my boyfriend got the strawberry and banana French toast and the Cajun Scramble. I sampled the scramble, and I must say that it was amazingly tasty. It was a combination of pork sausage, green and red pepper, onions and chicken.

The staff was very friendly and the music was pretty good too. Since they only serve breakfast and lunch, if you go there late in the afternoon, you'll be out of luck. If you want to find out more about Meli Cafe & Juice Bar and their menu, visit their website.
