Joe Lee Mickens True Blood Halloween Costume:
Medium length brown straggly wig
Underwear
Pants (ripped OK)
Dirt
Long sleeved white knit shirt or white tank top
Empty beer bottle
White underwear (optional, Joe Lee often appears in his underwear so if you're comfortable with that, skip the jeans and wear the underwear)
Putting it together:
Joe Lee is a leech with an addictive personality. It's easy to image that he was addicted to drugs at one time or another and now he always seems to have a drink in his hand. All in all, he looks gross and that's the look you want to go for.
Start by rubbing dirt on your white shirt and pants here and there. If you're opting for the underwear look, rub them in dirt. Joe Lee always looks dirty in one form or another.
Put on your wig or if you have hair the length of Joe Lee, make sure it looks greasy and scraggly. Get dressed in the clothing. Joe Lee Mickens usually is barefoot but obviously you probably don't want to go barefoot all night (unless you're at a private home for a Halloween party) so opt for a pair of shoes that looks like something Joe Lee would wear (flip flops, shoes with scuffs, toes poking through etc).
Throughout the night, clutch your empty beer bottle, walk drunkenly and yell "I own you boy!!"
Melinda Mickens True Blood Halloween Costume:
Short haired blonde wig
Blue Denim Skirt
Long sleeved brown floral shirt (it's ok if you can't find the exact shirt, improvise)
Black eyeliner
Lipstick (blotted)
Simple gold plated necklace
Small gold plated hoops
Sandals
Putting it together:
Melinda may be a mother but there is nothing mothering about her. She pretends to be concerned and apologetic but she would never win a mother of the year award. She is deceitful and broken.
Start by getting dressed. Leave your shirt hanging out of your skirt. Place your necklace on and earrings.
Your make up is very simple. Melinda looks like she's had a hard life. Her make up is not perfect. Put on black eyeliner and if you want a little eye shadow, make sure it's smudged. For your lipstick, put it on dark and them blot it until you can only see the residue of it.
Put on your wig and style it the best you can so that the end result is slightly messy.
During the night, give "Oh woe is me" with a few devious looks mixed in.
