I also like that the pieces are excellently made, making it a quality sandwich making play set and a great gift set as well. The Melissa & Doug Sandwich Making Set measures thirteen point twenty-five inches by nine inches by one point seventy-five inches. Best of all, the Melissa & Doug Sandwich Making Set retails for a reasonable price. It is nineteen dollars and ninety-nine cents. The Melissa & Doug Sandwich Making Set is recommended for children aged three to six years. It comes in a lovely wooden box as well.
The Melissa & Doug Sandwich Making Set is such an interesting and ingenious play set. All its pieces actually have Velcro inserts, so that your kids' gourmet sandwich creations do not fall apart. I love that it has vegetables too. It makes teaching kids the importance of having a balanced diet so much easier. The only thing I did not like about the Melissa & Doug Sandwich Making Set is that the paint peels from the wooden pieces. After a month of playing with the Melissa & Doug Sandwich Making Set, my daughter stopped bringing it out already because it looked old and drab already.
As I mentioned earlier, this play set looked really interesting when it was still bright and colorful. But since the paint peeled off most of the wooden pieces already, it looks so unattractive and "unappetizing". However, I was really relieved to find out from my research online (because I was getting really worried about its lead content with all the peeling paint flying around), that despite having been made in China, it contains no lead content. Neither does it have mercury, PVC, cadmium, arsenic and other poisonous chemicals.
The The Melissa & Doug Sandwich Making Set comes with wooden tomatoes, cheese, a burger patty, a hamburger bun, four slices of bread and an apple. I absolutely love the sound it makes when the wooden pieces come together. So despite the paint problem, which I hope they address, I highly recommend it.
