Melissa Reeves to Return to Days of Our Lives as Jennifer Horton Devereaux
Speculation has been rife that one or more of the characters that returned for Alice's funeral, may return on a more long term basis. The news that Melissa Reeves will be returning the role of Days of Our Lives' sweetheart Jennifer Horton Devereaux, will be welcome news to long time fans, who are enjoying the return of many favorite characters.
Jennifer Horton Devereaux is slated to first appear in November, presumably in a November sweeps storyline. But the big question on fans' minds is "what about Jack."
Jennifer without Jack is akin to Bo without Hope. In the interest of storytelling these characters are separated from time to time, by one drama or another (Bo and Hope are in fact estranged at this point), but fans can always count on the big reunion payoff somewhere down the line.
The return of Jennifer to Days of Our Lives also opens a door for additional younger characters to join the cast and boost the presence of the Horton clan. Jennifer and Jack have two children, Abigail and Jack Jnr.
Abigail Devereaux left Salem for Chicago some years ago, was on the prissy side of sweet, and generally played second string to her best friend Chelsea Brady, Bo and Billie's wild child, who was always in some kind of hot water.
Jack Jnr, when last seen on screen was little more than a baby, but with Days of Our Lives habit of rapidly ageing children, he could return to become Salem's latest teen heart throb.
But if Jennifer and perhaps her children return to Salem, how far behind can Jack realistically be? When interviewed at the recent 45 year celebration of Days of Our Lives Melissa Reeves stated that Jack was on a walkabout finding himself.
This leaves plenty of scope for Jack to include Salem on his walkabout itinerary, and walk back into Jennifer's life. Long time fans will certainly hope so. Jack and Jennifer would bring back another of the Salem Super Couples of the past back to our screens, but thanks to Jacks' craziness there's always a little comedy thrown in with the drama.

I still want Hope and Bo back together. Carly can find another person to hold her up. I hope it happen before you go off the air. i been watching since 1965.
