Mel's Blizzard Room -- 1981 LA John Doe

John Doe Found April 18, 1981

Todd Matthews
Just one of 31 John and Jane Does under the care of LASD's Cold Case Unit. Some of the remains found date back more than 30 years.

An unusual shirt of a manufacture for more than 30 years happens to be the most visually valuable identifier of this unnamed victim. The yellow shirt had an embroidered logo on the back -- "Mel's Blizzard Room."

There is not much information to be found about this shirt or its brand, "George London Original." I would love to get more information on the manufacture and distribution if any of you cyber sleuths have an eye for running down garments.

The young man is believed to have died while in his 20's, found less than a year after his death. The remains were skeletal but it has been determined he was a heavy build and close to 6'0" tall, with long dark brown hair and thick eyebrows.

Agency Case Number:
81-5119;
J0HN D0E# 142
Dental chart available

A lot of questions enter my mind -- disposition of the remains, possibility of facial reconstruction, DNA availability etc. In the meantime maybe someone will remember that shirt.
