Memorable Christmas Poems

Children's Christmas Poems

Lois Lunsford
Children are amazing when it comes to the Holiday season. We teach them about all our family traditions and we encourage an awareness of the true meaning of Christmas. Poetry brings to life a sense of wonder that can be remembered easily. When a child learns a poem the poem somehow comes to life. I love teaching poems to my students at Christmas time.

Christmas is coming

Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat.

Please to put a penny in the old man's hat;

If you haven't got a penny, a halfpenny will do,

If you haven't got a half penny, God bless you!

They tell us that Christmas is coming!

They tell us that Christmas is near.

CHRISTMAS..... The birthday of Jesus.

The happiest time of the year!

(Little Golden books)

The Love of God wrapped in His Son: The perfect gift for everyone!

(Daysprings cards)

Mom

At the holiday season, a Mom does so much-

The SHOPPING, the SHIPPING, the WRAPPING, and such.

There are GIFTS to deliver and cards to select.

The TREE must be trimmed, and the HALLS must be DECKED!

A Mom does so much to prepare for the day,

She deserves something Special.....

Like overtime pay!

The Holiday Season is a very busy time as we all know too well. Let's stop for a few minutes and consider our children's needs.
