I have two close friends that have both lost a child. My one friend lost her son when he was only a year old. Mother's day is hard for her because she still considers herself a mom even though her son is no longer alive. Many people don't know her situation so they don't consider her a mom. My other friend lost her 17 year old daughter when she was hit by a car. This friend has two other daughters, so she still celebrates Mother's day with them but her other daughter is always on her mind.
Many people want to give a mother's day gifts to a mom's that has lost a child on mother's day, but they don't know what kind of gift would be appropriate. Before you give a mom that has lost a child a mother's day gift you need to make sure it is a gift that will make her have good memories, and will make her feel special, not just sad. If you are not close to the grieving mom this can be even more difficult. Here are some suggestions of very special gifts that you can give mom's that have lost a child on Mother's day.
My friend that lost her baby said one of the hardest things for her was to come home from the hospital without a baby in her arms. She said that her arms would ache wanting to hold something. A special gift for a mom that has lost a small child or baby recently is a teddy bear. You can get a teddy bear embroidered with the child's name. This is a good gift so that the mom can hold something and remember her baby. This can be a very personal gift, and mean a lot to a mom on Mother's day. You can find teddy bears at any store, and most malls have a embroidery store that can write anything you want on the bear.
Jewelry can be a a very special gift on mother's day, and it can also be a very appropriate gift for moms that have lost a child. A necklace with a locket that you can put a picture of their child in is a great gift. You can also find charm bracelets that has places for pictures. This is a great git for moms that have lost a child because it lets them carry special pictures of their child with them everywhere. Pictures are very special to moms, so this makes it a very special gift.
You can often find engraved rocks at many different malls and stores. This is a special gift because you can make it very personal. You can get a special rock in the shape of a heart and it can be engraved with the child's name, date of birth, date of death, happy Mother's day, or anything else that would be special to the mom. These rocks are very beautiful and can make very special memorials. The mom can keep it in a special place in her house or if she loves to garden she can find a very special place in her garden for the rock. You can find stores that have the engraved rocks in many malls or you can look on-line at Rock-it Creations.
Mother's day is a very special day for all mom's, even mom's that have lost a child. Any mom will be happy to know that you were thinking about them, and care enough to give a very special gift. Often people worry about giving the wrong gift or saying the wrong thing to someone who has lost a child, but giving them a special gift and letting them know you are thinking about them will mean a lot to them.

Post a CommentI loved your thoughtful article. I'm looking for ways to celebrate mother's day without my wonderful son who died 7 years ago. Another idea for an appropriate gift is to have a star named after the child.
I'm not here as an editor, but as a Mother who lost her beautiful son this past summer. I want to thank the writer for her heartfelt and very thoughtful ideas. People can (and do, routinely) say stupid/unkind things that only compound my wound. Your simple kindness helped mend my broken heart. And my heart is where my son will live until I meet with him after I die. So, thank you for your substantial gift.
P. S.
Let me add that I found your content itself quite helpful, it's just that the article was difficult to read.
This is an excellent topic, but the consistent punctuation errors should be corrected. Flow would also be improved by reworking some of the sentences.
For example:
Mother's day is a very special day for all mom's, even mom's that have lost a child.
The above sentence should be reworked, perhaps to read:
Mother's day is a very special day for all moms, even those who have lost a child.
