Memorable Television Moms

Tv Shows Had Great Moms like Carol Brady, Annie Camden

AmyBrowne
Moms on television have inspired us through the years, as they raised countless children with ease. Often these television moms inspired us, or taught us about all aspects of life including motherhood. I will share some inspiring thoughts on television moms like Edith Bunker, Carol Brady, Annie Camden, Olivia Walton, among others. I hope you enjoy this article on television mothers.

Motherhood TV show style

Jean Stapleton, who played the loveable Edith Bunker, did have some tender mom moments with her daughter Gloria. I will remember the one episode where she was raped, that brought me the realization as a teenager that rape can occur to anyone. She went about her life after some time as if nothing has happened she held her head high. When a woman is raped it is all about power, and Edith showed all women to keep the power.

Motherhood TV show style

Florence Henderson, who played Carol Brady in the TV show The Brady Bunch. She showed us all that blended families could work long before the term came commonplace in America. We all remember she was the single mom of three daughters, who fell in love with single dad Mike who had three sons. Together they became a blended family, so worked together and all seemed to get along under the watchful eye of Carol the stay at home mom. She was the television mom every kid my neighborhood wished was real.

Motherhood TV show style

Annie Camden the mom from seventh Heaven played by Catherine Hicks who remained the special mom all eleven years it ran 1996-2007 has plenty of those magic and tender motherhood moments on the TV show. She made being a mom and the wife of a preacher look easy. She had given birth to seven children and during the show; she dealt with every stage of parenting at once. I loved the tender moments she has with her daughters, but loved it when she would curl up with a baby. This television mom was no stranger to hard work or a few extra children.

Motherhood TV show style

Olivia Walton played by Michael Learned stared as the mom in the TV show series the Walton's, which aired back in. 1972- 1981. There were tons of special mom moments, but the ones that got me and made me cry was when she was sitting by Elizabeth's hospital bed after the log roll over paralyzed her. There is nothing as powerful as a momma praying over a child who is sick or injured seriously. Olivia was one of the busiest moms on television who raised seven children with the help of her husband and in-laws. This show gave us a glimpse into large families who bonded together and helped each other to survive.

Motherhood TV show style

Rose Ann Conners playedby Rose Ann Barr stared in her own TV show called Roseanne. This show had many special mom moments, such as when DJ cut the heads off barbie dolls, but I think the most touching moment for me as a mom was when Darleen (her daughter on the show) went into labor early.

Motherhood TV show style

Kate played by Evangeline Lilly airing on Lost Wednesday nights on ABC at 9 has always been a good mother but when questioned about the truth of her baby she goes wild. She shows us that motherhood, the love of our offspring is might powerful, and it comes before anything else. The truth of her baby's real mom is what she is trying to protect, but she's adopted the baby to make sure he survives the death of his real mom, and she uses it to her own advantage. Lost is a very popular TV show.

I loved 7th Heaven but thought they wrote Annie a bit nutso sometimes with regard to her relationship as a wife. However, she was a great mother role model.
