Memorial Day Party Drinks

Perfect Alcoholic Memorial Day Party Cocktails

Robin Vinci
Memorial Day is a day or remembrance. It's also a day that signifies the unofficial start of summer. The best way to celebrate is with a few friends or larger party.

If you are planning a Memorial Day party and want to add a bit of zing to party-goer drinks, here are a few great ideas that guests will certainly enjoy!

Sunrise on Pluto

1 oz vodka

1 oz tequila

2 oz blue curacao lemonade

First comes vodka, then tequila and fill with lemonade. You can add a dash of grenadine. A nice cocktail for a summer holiday. But, maybe you won't want top drink it until sunset.

Red Alert

1 oz tequila

1 ox banana liquer

1 oz gin sour mix

Mix in glass and serve. I chose this one because it was named following World War II, during the cold war as a way to watch out for Russians.

Artillery Cocktail

1 ½ vermouth

1 ½ oz gin

1 or 2 dash bitters

Stir with ice, strain and pour into a cocktail glass. What a drink for a war remembrance holiday.

Fiery Blue Mustang

½ oz banana liquer

½ blue caracao

½ oz everclear

Mix in a shotglass and light on fire. Wow, what a way to start the summer.

Black Sand

½ oz kahlua

½ oz black sambuca

½ oz amaretti

Layer each into a small glass. Really smooth and anything with sand in the name is made for the start of summer.

Backseat Boogie

¾ oz vodka

¾ oz gin

3 oz cranberry juice

3 oz ginger ale

Pour gin and vodka over ice followed by juice and ginger ale. Then sing a few summer car or dance songs.

Beauty on the Beach

1 oz white rum

1 oz Southern comfort peach liqueur

1 tbspn Grand Marnier

1 tsp lemon juice

2 dash orange bitters.

Fill tall glass halfway with ice cubes. Pour ingredients, strain and serve. I can't think of a better drink for a day on the beach.

Dead Man Walking

½ oz absinthe herbal liqueur

½ cinnamon schnapps

Pour equal amounts in shotglass. I half to admit, I chose this one because it fits the holiday.

In order to make your holiday a sucess, be sure not to let friends drive drunk. Choose a designated driver. Be
sure to serve appetizers and meals with drinks. Then just have fun.
