The Memphis in May schedule and was released with quite a few big-name artist and groups on the roster. The Beale Street Music Festival, which is a portion of the Memphis in May International Festival, will begin on Friday, May 2 and continues through Sunday, May 4. The artists that will play this event range from rock 'n' roll to bluegrass to hip-hop to country to pop musicians. For those with a varied musical taste, Memphis in May you should not and miss this.

A few artists that I would be interested in seeing our Sheryl Crow, who will perform Friday, May 2. I have been a fan of Crow's said she moved from being a backup singer for Michael Jackson and took the pop world by storm. I have also had the pleasure to see her in the past, and she puts on a great show.

Santana, who will perform on Saturday, May 3, is a group that has spanned several decades. More recently, they have mixed Latin vibes with a taste of pop and rock mixed in. They also are great performers and usually play music from me even the older albums to their current hits.

Fergie and Michael McDonald will both perform on Sunday May 4. I have been a fan of Fergie's since she joined The Black Eyed Peas. As a solo artist, her CD is one that I listen to often, with "big girls don't cry" being one of my favorites.

As for Michael McDonald, I have loved him since I was a young kid and he was the lead singer with The Doobie Brothers. This is another artist that even though he is not a big performer (dancing) he seems his heart out, and performs his solo stuff as well as some of the music from his Doobie Brothers days.
