Men Arrested During a Four Day Internet Sex Sting in Central Florida

After a four day long sex sting in the Orlando Florida area, three Disney employees have been placed on unpaid leave and an Orlando Boys & Girls Clubs employee has been fired as a result of their respective arrests in a sting targeting men looking for underage girls for sex on the Internet. The Polk County Sheriffs office set up an under cover sting to target men that were looking for underage girls to have sexual relations with. All of the men made the initial contact on the Internet with a female child that said she was 13 years old.

Over the four days, a total of 28 men showed up at a home in the Four Corners area after chatting with a girl who said she was underage. All the men came to the home expecting to have sex with the underage girl, who was actually an undercover detective. When men knocked on the door, they were confronted by police instead of the 13 year old child they had planned on meeting.

One of the men, Jonathan K. Thompkins, 19, who was a recreation leader on the basketball court, was arrested Thursday after detectives said he arrived at a Four Corners home where he thought he was going to have sex with a girl he met on the Internet. Thompson worked one day a week for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, and now has been fired said Gary Cain, president of that organization. Gary Cain stated that there was never a time that Thompkins was ever along with children. Thompkins posted bail and was released from the Polk County Jail on Sunday, public records show.

Three Disney workers were also placed on unpaid leave in the same sex sting. The Polk County Sheriff's Office has reported Thierry Ferron, an electronics technician, Julio Segundo, a research and development intern, and Richard Gaugh, a part-time instructor each work for the Disney Company.

Disney officials would not comment on where these employees worked and if they worked with children. Segundo and Ferron both posted bond and were released from jail and jail records show Gaugh remained jailed Monday.

Authorities also state that two men that are students at the University of Central Florida were also arrested in the four day sting.
