Five days after allegedly attempting to escape Royal Oak Police by speeding away and firing gunshots at the pursing officers, two men have been arrested and arraigned. Bail was set in 44th District Court by Magistrate Clement Waldmann.

Tommy Gene Threatt, a 65-year-old from Ypsilanti, is suspected of firing shots at the officers. His bail was set at $2 million with no 10 percent, and he was charged with seven different felonies. Charges include armed robbery, four different weapons charges, assault with intent to murder and fleeing from police, third degree. If convicted on all charges, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

The other man, 50-year-old Willie Kirksey of Detroit, is charged with one count of armed robbery. His bail was set at $1 million. Both men stood quiet at their arraignment.
