Poem About Guys and Bowl Games

JUNEANN REED
Men and Football Bowl Games - Poetry

The bowl games take over
And with remote close at hand,
He slides into his recliner
Knowing he's in command.

Some hot wings with mustard
Chips, dips and a beer,
His friend, Fido, beside him
He's ready to cheer.

The big game is tied
With a minute to go,
The kicker lines up
And what do you know.

He leans to the left
And then to the right,
He wiggles his foot
And puts the football in flight.

Those couple of seconds
Seemed long as a day,
He gripped the chair tightly
Then I heard him say.

Whew! That was a tough one
We worked so hard guys,
He winked down at Fido
And then shut his eyes.

  • Hey gals - I'm sure you know about the remote.
  • You probably also know about the wings, chips and dips and beer.
  • Most of you guys do too!
Football bowl games are fun. They can be enjoyed by a large crowd at a party - or one lone man can sit in his easy chair and be perfectly content.
