Samson, born super-naturally strong became defenseless and was turned over to his enemies, the Philistines, after divulging the secret to his strength to Delilah. Delilah's unrelenting nagging wore him down mentally. Sure, as a Nazarene, Samson knew never to cut his hair or share such a secret with anyone. However, his love for Delilah made him blind both spiritually and physically. Once she discovered his secret, she cut his hair, got her money, and gave Samson over to his enemies. But God still brought him through by allowing him to defeat more Philistines at his death than he did his entire lifetime.
King David allowed his lust for Bathesheba, a married woman, to be the beginning of his downfall. He ordered the murder of his loyal soldier Uriah-Bathesheba's husband. God sent Nathan the prophet to David to expose his sinful behavior. For masterminding the murder of Uriah, David and Bathesheba lost their son and turmoil permeated continually in David's family. However, long after he repented for his sins, God used King David's lineage to bring Jesus the Messiah, the Son of David, unto mankind.
Finally, there is Adam and Eve. Adam is one of the greatest examples for men of how following a woman's advice can cause horrible, long lasting consequences. God gave clear instructions to Adam not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. What happened? Satan conned Eve into eating the fruit, she then in turn gave it to Adam who ate it. When confronted by God, Adam passed the buck said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate (Genesis 3:12-13)." By listening to Eve, Adam's decision led to the Fall of Man, a price that mankind is paying for today.
One of the spiritual warfare weapons of choice Satan uses to attack men is sex. A common pattern emerges when one can see how Patriarchs' of the Bible fell spiritually due to a woman's influence. King Solomon, one of the wisest men of the Bible allowed his many wives to turn his heart away from the Lord. Even in Proverbs, he gave a warning to men regarding immoral women, "Do not stray into her paths; for she has cast down many wounded, and all who were slain by her were strong men, her house is the way to hell, descending to the chambers of death (Proverbs 7:25-27)" In addition, King Solomon cautions men, "Do not give your strength to women, (Proverbs 31:3)" but later in the chapter he shares a list of characteristics that are found in a good woman:
She opens her mouth with wisdom.
Her tongue has the law of kindness.
She watches over the way of her household.
She fears the Lord and will be blessed.
Jeffery Seif, a commentator of the Zola Levitt program, reminds his teenage sons that a mere woman can undo all the morals and values that he as their father instilled in them within a matter of seconds. All women carry the "Eve Syndrome." Unfortunately for men this syndrome has the potential to lead men down a path of unrighteousness. So I caution men, do not heed ungodly advice from women based on your raging hormones. Women, especially beautiful women are like kryptonite to your brain. Use wisdom and rely on the Word of God when in doubt of the advice of your woman. By knowing how Satan got women to use their wiles to take down some of the most powerful and godly men of the Bible, men may be one step ahead of the his trap. Remember, that knowing is half the battle.
