Men and Women Have Different Values in Relationships

There are general tendencies with respect to how men and women value different aspects of a romantic relationship. They aren't rules. They aren't hard and fast incontrovertible truths. They are tendencies.

Men tend to value physical intimacy more than women, for instance. That isn't true of all men and it isn't true of all women. It may not be true of you and your relationships. Overall, however, that tendency does exist.

Men tend to value things that produce tangible results more than do women. Women tend to value emotional benefits more than men. There are exceptions, many exceptions. Overall, however, those tendencies do exist.

Men and women are similar creatures and pretending as if they are from different planets clouds that a great deal. However, there are differences in prioritization that can have a meaningful impact on relationships.

We don't want to pretend as if those generalizations are absolute truths that apply universally to every woman and every man. That would be short-sighted and our own experiences tell us that kind of thinking just doesn't match reality.

However, it still makes sense to look at these things from a man/woman perspective just so we can get a grip on larger trends and to help underline the fact that overall, there is a slight difference between men and women when it comes to evaluating and experiencing relationships.
