The moment you talk about a man in a suit, one of the few accessories that catch your eye about him is his tie. A tie is definitely a must have in every man's wardrobe and how well men use ties to accessorize their look can make an impression.

Ties are a part of the male wardrobe since their childhood days; from using ties in school to using ties in workplace, they need it at all stages of life. Ties come in a variety of patterns and colors and matching the right tie with the suit or the shirt is imperative to get the suave look.

There are two basic types of ties: the first type is broader towards the end whereas the other type is thinner towards the end. Selecting the correct one from your wardrobe will determine whether you are striking the smart business look or the office look or a formal yet party look.

Ties are available in different patterns namely the diagonal stripes, the printed ties, bolder prints like geometric designs or self-colored metallic ties. However, you need to have the knowledge of which one to wear for which occasion.

A thumb rule would be to wear lighter shades if the color of your shirt is on the darker side whereas you may go in for the darker tie shades to team up with light colored shirts. Do not ever experiment with your ties while going for a business meet. For example, wearing bold geometric pattern ties for a business meet would not look appealing but it might work out for a business dinner or any other not so formal occasion.

Once you have picked up the best one to match with your shirt or suit, the next step is how to tie a tie well. There are innumerable ways of tying the knot namely the Windsor knot, the half Windsor knot, Pratt knot and the four-in hand knot. The Windsor knot also known as the double Windsor knot is the most complicated and requires a lot of practice. A well knotted tie is a requisite to complete the suave look.

When you talk about ties how can you not talk about the tie accessories? Tie-pins also known as tie-bars are the first on the ladder of tie-accessories. Tie-pins are available in gold or silver with exquisite cuts or embedded diamonds to give a striking look when teamed up with the tie.

Apart from tie-pins, there also tie-racks that help you arrange your ties. You need not dig into your wardrobe to search the apt color. All you need to do is rotate the tie-rack to select your required tie!

From branded ones to the not so branded ones, ties and its related accessories are a must have in the men's wardrobe as they definitely aid in giving the debonair look!
