Roger Federer- Federer is King Roger once again in the tennis world. Not that he is undefeatable like he was before. Federer is beatable as Rafael Nadal proved and Andy Roddick confirmed. Federer is almost a machine and will definitely make the semis the question is will any of the contenders below step up and beat him.
Rafael Nadal- He's proven his talent and heart. But, will he prove healthy enough to win the U.S. Open. Unfortunately, I am convinced that he isn't healthy enough yet. Nadal will fight with all his heart, but at some point his body will fail him.
Andy Roddick- Roddick is a similar story to Nadal. He can win the Open this year. But, let's face it he is already injured going into the tournament. One thing for Roddick though, I will finally root for him because of the heart he showed at Wimbledon. In the previous years he would have folded, that's why I think he might stand a chance, because of his heart.
Andy Murray- I think this could be his breakthrough in terms of Grand Slams. Murray has many of the best players in the world's number. Roddick beat him at Wimbledon but, Roddick was fresher than Murray before that match and also Murray had the weight of England on his shoulders. This is Murray's chance and I think he'll grab it.
Novak Djokovic- He has so much talent but, he never seems to bring it at the end of grand slams. I think this will probably be a similar story. I believe he will go deep into the Open probably the Semis.
Juan Martin Del Potro- I don't think much of Juan's talent. But, you have to give him the fact that he win's alot. He can give the big boys quite a run for their money. But, my guess is that will be all he'll do just give them a run for their money.
Sam Querrey- Just for the record Sam is not a contender in my opinion no matter what his fans, called the samurai, think about him. He has the great huge American serve. But, he is inconsistent. If he makes it deep watch out. But, my guess is he gets tripped in the early rounds like he has in the other slams this year.
