Al Gore wins Nobel!
George Will (a pundit?) says Al gets a prize that is notorious among Terrorists. Now, now George...did you think this verbal diarrhoea through?

ON ABC NEWS Sunday magazine program, "THIS WEEK" with George Stephanopaulos, some sick and fascistic commentors could not tell the difference between Sweden and Nazi Germany, or between Yassir Arafat and Osama Bin Laden. It is not as if Sweden gave a peace prize to Osama bin Ladin, or that the Nobel Committee sent Araft to the White House lawn for a historic handshake with Yitzhak Rabin. If Al Qaida and the Palestine Authority are the same, why is Condoleeza Rice meeting with Palestinians and Israelis even now for a peace conference next month? Since when is Osama Bin Laden less of a terrorist than was Yasir Arafat? Arafat did not take down the Twin Towers in New York or the Pentagon. Osama bin Ladin did. And bin Ladin has never received the Nobel Peace Prize Mr. Will. Why do we mix up Yassir Arafat, Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Ladin? The answer to this punditry gone awry (or hateful amnesia) seems to be that former Vice-President, Albert Gore, won the Nobel Peace Prize last week.

Did we fall so low and so far from the Founding Fathers that we a fellow American winning the Nobel Prize makes us squirm with hate and envy! Such media gurus, pundits and politicans could never have built an America of our Founders, an America that grows and keeps on giving. Their recipe for America is a fascist dictatorship where corporations win rights of "persons" and where people become gun-fodder tfor every war they can think up (without giving peace a chance).

How could a respected journalist sink to the gutter by calling the Nobel Committee the equivalent of an organization that promotes terrorists like the former Palestine Authority president, Yassir Arafat? These pundits and miracle workers (like shamans and Rolls Royce gurus) seem to wish to throw the baby out with the bath water. They condemned a former president and Nobel Laureate this morning also, when only a few weeks ago they protested the very thing. They had gone so far as to ask Democratic candidates for the next general election to condemn "Move On Dot Org" for calling General Petraes (who is leading the surge strategy for us in Iraq), "General Betray Us." They want respect for our leaders... but do they mean it! Was not Jimmy Carter president and leader of all Americans? Jimmy Carter was a human rights president who helped pressure apartheid South Africa towards what would become the peaceful Nelson Mandela transition/revolution. Carter deserves the same respect that we give Ronald Reagan and the first and second Presidents called George Bush. All of these leaders deserve our respect for the presidency's sake, for the sake of our Republic, not for their partisan politics.

Finally, if we condemn the Nobel Prize when it is given to Yassir Arafat and Al Gore, how could we celebrate the very same prize won by Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres and Ellie Wiesel? This just exposes the shallowness of our partisan and mean-spirited journalists who have called into question the tenets of good journalism (while surely wanting it in Myanmar/Burma and in Russia). Do we accept the Nobel Prize for our chemists, physicists and doctors - including those that are/were foreign born - and then only reject SWEDEN and the Nobel Committee because Al Gore and Yassir Arafat (and Israeli leaders) win? This might be similar to the Olympic medals race and controversy: those won by our opponets are certainly "won" by cheating and using performance-enhancing drugs! But our medals are always honestly earned (wink, wink).

Also on FOX, this morning, Charles Krauthammer and Bill Krystol condemned the Nobel Committee for overlooking the situation in Myanmar (Burma). So sad....these journalists who get paid so much forgot that the Nobel Committee has been a decade or more ahead of their commentary! The Nobel Committee had recognized and already awarded their highest peace prize to a Burmese woman, Anh San ...the honorable member of the opposition who is under house arrest for more than a decade. Shame ... Bill Krystol, shame ... George Will, shame ... Charles Krauthammer. If you distort facts about peace, we can see how you distorted facts that lead to dishonorable and costly wars from Iraq to Iran. shalom

Remember that Peace (as War, on accasion) can be patriotic too.
