Mercedes-Benz Smart ForTwo Car Debuts in America
The Smart ForTwo car is an ultra mini two seater, only 8.8 feet long and slightly over 5 feet wide. The gas powered engine boasts 33 miles per gallon for city driving, 41 miles per gallon for highway driving, and the base price for the Smart ForTwo car starts at $11, 590.
The Smart ForTwo comes in three models, and according to Mercedes-Benz, all three models come packed with standard safety features that you would only expect to find in a more high priced luxury car.
The base model is The Smart ForTwo Pure. This ultra mini car comes with a 5-speed manual automated transmission. All other items such as sound system, air conditioning, and power door locks are optional for this model. Base price for the Smart ForTwo Pure is $11,590.
The mid-class for this ultra mini car is The Smart ForTwo Passion Coupe. This model has a sporty look and all the elements of the base model. With additional panorama roof, air conditioning, power windows and more. The price for the Smart ForTwo Passion Coupe starts at $13,590.
The top of the line model for this ultra mini Mercedes-Benz is the Smart ForTwo Passion Cabriolet. This model has all the elements of the Coupe, with an upgraded sound system. The bonus feature of this model is that it is a convertible. The soft top with heated back window can be adjusted to any level while driving. The starting price for this convertible Smart ForTwo car is $16,590.
Each Smart ForTwo cars comes in two exterior colors, the changeable body panels come in six colors to suit any buyers taste, with metallic colors offered at an additional cost. Several interior color options are offered, with leather upholstery being offered at an additional cost also. Various other options and accessories are available from Mercedes-Benz for the Smart ForTwo car as well.
The national trend of consumer's seems to be gravitating towards products with the word 'smart' in it's name. The high cost of gas, coupled with a sluggish economy, has made this a 'smart' time for Mercedes-Benz to debut their ultra mini Smart ForTwo car in the United States.
