Lisa White ISSA & AFPA CPT
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is held at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York city. This will be the first time in seventeen years the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will have a new venue. The Lincoln Center has four different venues with Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenburg and Tommy Hilfiger occupying the largest theater. The change of venue was due to space and the Lincoln center offers 35% more space than its previous venue.

There will be a total of 87 designers for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Though there will be many talented designers but there are some designers to keep an eye out for such as Marc Jacobs; an American fashion designer who will be showing his new line. According to Ben Whiddecombe of AOL's Stylelist.com there are many young Asian-American designers that are making waves. Jason Woo, the creator of Michelle Obama's inaugural dress, Richard Chai for menswear and Alexander Wang's hand bag and dress creations will be part of the program.

Another youthful face to watch for is Charlotte Ronson. She will be presenting her Spring line at six o'clock on Saturday. Ronson's design style will include the romance of Spain and the androgyny of '90's grunge. The designs will also incorporate prints in warm colors, bias cut slip dresses, slouchy sweaters and '90's graffiti.
