Marc Jacobs', and American fashion designer, Spring 2011 collection was bold, bright and vibrant. Jacobs runway show for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week revealed long flowing looks and prints emblazoned on coral, tangerine, magenta, as well as, bright purple and black materials. The look was soft and romantic but with a Bohemian edge to it; which is quite the contrary to Jacobs 2010 Spring Ready to Wear line. Designs in long skirts, peasant tops and flowing tent dresses graced the runways. The ready to wear collection also had an assortment of designs that were used to create sexy, street/business wear. The combination of Bo-ho and business-casual attire was tied together with the use of flowers and belts.

For consumers; designs such as these set the market's pace for specific styles and trends. Sometimes these are not long lasting trends but still trends none-the-less. Check out these possible Spring and Summer trends from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week designer Marc Jacobs.

Prints & Florals

The prints were shown in different size ranges and will set a precedence for Spring and Summer attire. Although the prints varied they were very sharp and distinct. They were presented on long fitted dresses and jumpsuits designed with palazzo style pants. Retailers may choose for a toned down style such as soft prints and florals on long flowing dresses and tops.

High Waisted Pants

Rompers and loose fitting high waisted pants were a major proponent of Marc Jacob's Spring 2011 line. The contours were smooth for the most part; with a few pair of trousers bordering the harem pant style. If super high-waisted pants aren't your style check your local clothing stores for wide leg pants with a waist line that aligns itself with your navel.

Accessories

Bold belts and over sized flowers adorned waist lines and hair. Large straw hats were a major component of the show offering Spring and Summer hat styles with huge brims. Marc Jacobs' fashion sense with large belts and flowers will set a style standard for outfits with wide belts and flower appliques.

Diagonal Hemlines

Marc Jacobs' models donned slip dresses with diagonal cut hemlines. The dresses are long but in some cases the diagonal cut is very high and shows a lot of leg above the thigh. In the future; look forward to simpler style dresses cut on the bias which offers a flowing style and hemlines that have the same diagonal cut.
