Meredith Viera Interviews 13-Year-Old Kayla Manson on the Today Show: Kayla Says 'C*nt' Twice

Ms. Marie
On March 17, 2010 the lives of three teens changed forever. The world was shocked when the news spread. 15-year-old Wayne Treacy stomped Josie Lou Ratley repeatedly in the head while wearing steel-toed boots after accused accomplish Kayla Manson pointed Josie out to Treacy. Recently, Kayla Manson appeared on the Today show and was interviewed by Meredith Viera, during the interview 13-year-old Kayla said the word 'c*nt' twice on national television.

Unfortunately, for some hearing a 13-year-old curse is not shocking, but being on television surrounded by adults and using foul language tells one that Kayla Manson lacked respect. If the interview was part of a defense strategy set up in hopes of portraying a nicely dressed, prim and proper, niave 'little girl' it may have backfired. After analyzing the interview and carefully reviewing the transcript of the text message that lead to Wayne Treacy brutally beating Ratley it raises a lot of questions.

Did Josie Lou Rately Send The Text Messages
Sadly, the only person who could answer this question, Josie, has no memory of what happened that dreadful day. Is there other ways to prove who sent the text to Treacy? Can the school staff or other students verify Rately's whereabouts and what she was doing at the time the text were sent? Maybe another student saw something that could be helpful. If Rately was using her cell phone during class to read and send text messages between 11:30 am and 12:41 pm where was the teacher? Do teachers have the responsibility of stopping students from using cell phones or texting while in class?

Was Kayla Manson Truthful on the Today Show
Meredith asks Kayla, "Why did you decide that this was the time to speak out? Why did you want to come here and talk...what do you want people to know about you?"

Kayla Manson responds, "That I wouldn't deliberately hurt somebody and I wouldn't help someone hurt somebody." Meredith goes on, "...You were in school with Josie, you heard about the text...you saw them?" Kayla Manson says, "I only saw two..."

Meredith then asks the 13-year-old if she saw the text where Treacy threatens Josie...to kill her and Kayla immediately looks to her right, Meredith's left which possibly indicates lying according to some experts, before she [Manson] answers, "No." (04:01 of the video). Watch Kayla's eye movements.

The texting started at 11:31am and ended at 12:41pm, yet Manson stated that she only saw two comments. Meredith then asks the teen what she saw in the text message, yet again Kayla looks away then downward as she answers, "Um...the one where he...she calls him a rapist...and she calls him a c*nt..." Kayla shakes her head, closes her eyes and corrects herself, "...I mean he calls her a c*nt." Was Kayla Manson telling the truth?

If Kayla knew that Wayne was texting Josie to reach her why didn't she talk to him, or did she?

Treacy only used the word c--- once during the text messaging, however many may find it hard to believe that Kayla only saw that part of the texting between Josie Lou Ratley and Wayne Treacy.

Also, Ratley's last text response to Treacy at 12:41pm, "She [Kayla] not n tha same class txt her other friend they in that same class." arouses ones curiousity. Who was the other friend? Did Treacy text that friend? Does Treacy's computer show a text message after 12:41pm where he is talking with Kayla? If so, perhaps that text transcript could reveal whether or not Kayla Manson knew that Wayne Treacy was outraged about the comment about his dead brother. Did Kayla know that a very angry Wayne Treacy was coming after Josie Lou Ratley?

For those who found it shocking, that 13-year-old Kayla Manson said c*nt twice during the interview with Meredith on the Today Show just watch an episode of Maury Povich and you will realize that 'innocent looking little girls' use bad words all the time. For some folks, this interview probably showed a very disrespectful teen who thinks nothing of cursing in front of adults rather than a naïve 'little girl' who didn't know she said something wrong.

In my opinion, the Today show interview paints an extremely negative picture of Josie Lou Rately's so-called best friend who admittedly pointed her out to Wayne Treacy. Sorry, Kayla Manson did not appear to be the innocent 'little girl' that her aunt and lawyers, more likely than not, had hoped for.

    .

IMO Kayla Manson IS THE PERSON who borrowed the cell
phone of her "best friend" (Josie Ratley); used the
    cell phone to send offensive texts to Wayne Treacy;
and then (even after Wayne noted to Kayla & others
that he planned to beat Josie, someone he had never
met, to death over the texts) -- Kayla Manson then
pointed poor Josie out to Wayne at the girl's school.

IMO Kayla Manson is a SOCIO-PATH; a drama queen; an
    attention-seeking liar; a co-attempted murderer --
& she likes to play "the innocent" about everything.

Wel, it's all very interesting. I would hate bing in the middle of it. It's bad enough my sister is like this. I think it's shame that young "women" act in such a manner. I couldn't really say what I thought of the whole thing as I don't have TV. But ifshe did know something about it, she should have reported it to someone. Also, if she was looking off in another direction during the interview, it may be that she is lying. But peoples habits do differ from person to person. Now, if it were me, I would have simply sad that names were being called. Then again I took speech class. One of the first things I learned about presentation, was how you presented. Wha you say can be offensive to others. As for girls being cruel, well as far as I've learned from history and watching forensic shows with psycholigists, females can actually be more cruel then males. Males are brutal, but females are cruel. Apparently they can be more apt to do something more horrific. Even female bullies are more cru
