Merry-Go-Round World
Where I began is where I am now
Returning to places
I thought I left behind
Once familiar faces
Aged by time
Driving by scenery
Familiar yet changed
New things to memorize
My security be danged
My friends are no longer
They've all gone their way
It's me who's returning
Once again to stay
My heart is the same
It beats now for naught
Apparently not learning
The lesson that was taught
My thoughts are swirling
A mixture of doubts
A helping of hope
A scream to get out
Looking ahead to the future
while living in the past
Beginning my new life
but starting from LAST
I can do it
I can't
I want to
I don't
I should
Shouldn't I?
I no longer know.
My life is a merry-go-round.
Where I began is where I am now.
