Established east of the Riverview shopping center, northwest neighborhoods in Mesa, Arizona are located in proximity to wonderful dining establishments, excellent entertainment venues and intriguing educational opportunities near the bordering city of Tempe. Arizona State University has campuses located in Mesa, Tempe and Phoenix. Numerous freeways throughout the region make it easy to get around the metropolitan area; this provides quick access to jobs, colleges, major sporting events, concerts and many other exciting things taking place throughout the greater Phoenix area.


Mesa Attractions

The climate in Mesa is relatively mild, except during the summer, which tends to get rather hot in the desert. Mesa residents offset the scorching heat by going to air-conditioned major league sporting events, shopping malls, movie theaters and art galleries; those who don't mind the heat as much enjoy lots of fun activities at amusement parks like Golfland/Sunsplash, which is located a few miles south of the region, north of Highway 60. Discount tickets are easily attained for Golfland/Sunsplash throughout the summer. However, there are also a few free water parks in the greater Phoenix area.

The Phoenix Zoo, Desert Breeze Park and Pecos Park feature enticing water play areas that are sure to be a big attraction for kids and adults. These destinations have intriguing venues like animals, train rides and numerous recreational activities to attract residents. Pecos Park has also has a public pool, as do many of the local schools in the area. Swim leagues and lessons are readily available throughout Mesa. Schools like Shepherd and Fremont have large slides and diving pools, complete with a separate high dive pool for the more adventurous spirits. Along with public swimming venues, Mesa residents can rent city pool facilities for private events and pool parties.

Home of Cubs Spring Training

Baseball enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that Hohokam Stadium, home of Spring Training for the Cubs, is located on the border of the northwest neighborhoods in Mesa, just minutes away. While the stadium is extremely popular for its baseball venue, it also hosts a variety of other events including concerts and community festivals. The facility can even be rented for corporate picnics and family special occasions like weddings, family reunions and other things.

Travel Opportunities

Sky Harbor International Airport is located less than 30 minutes away from Mesa's northwest neighborhoods, which are bordered by the 101 and 202 freeways to the west and north respectively, as well as by West Main Street and North Center Street. Sky Harbor International Airport makes traveling easy. Parking and shuttles are quick and dependable. The open design of the airport allows for easy mobility, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Native American artwork is displayed throughout individual terminals and in several mini museums. Restaurants and shopping at the airport serve a variety of customers, catering to multiple budgets and tastes.

They are a great place to live because they are centrally located and mortgage and rental prices in the area are reasonable. Architecture in the region reflects a southwestern, ranch style, with spacious homes and yards.

Mesa is a thriving metropolitan area located near the Tonto National Forest. Residents enjoy hiking and camping throughout the forest and other open lands in the area. Nearby lakes provide boating and fishing opportunities; tubing down the river is also a favorite activity among the locals. Golfers have their pick of pristine courses and country clubs to keep them entertained, as there are well over 40 to choose from in the vicinity.
