NAPLES, Fla. - Five young children and their mother, identified as Guerline Damas, 32, and her children: Michzach, 9; Marven, 6; Maven, 5; Megan, 3; and 11-month-old Morgan, were found dead in a Florida inside their residence in the 800 block of Hampton Circle in North Naples around 6.30 p.m. local time. Apartment, and authorities were searching for the woman's husband, Mesac Damas, who is a person of interest, had left the country. Collier County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Michelle Batten, would not say how they died but called it a homicide investigation. One media report cited an official as saying the victims had not been shot but refused to release other information.

Mesac Damas, 33, described as just over six feet tall, 230 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes, boarded a flight to Haiti from Miami International Airport on Friday, said Batten. Damas has family from Haiti, she said. Damas left Miller's Ale House in Naples, where he worked as a cook, Thursday night. He arrived at the Miami airport Friday morning and boarded a flight to Haiti, the sheriff's office said. His car was found at the airport and had been secured by investigators who are checking it for evidence.

The man's father, Jean Damas Sr., told the Naples Daily News that his son had called his brother from Haiti. Damas Sr. also said his son and his wife have had domestic problems. Family members did contacted authorities Thursday saying they hadn't heard from the mother. A missing person report was filed the next day, and on Saturday, the sheriff's office entered the home in a gated community in Naples and found the bodies.

Sheriff Rambosk called the homicides "the worst of the worst."

Collier County court records show Mesac Damas has prior charges for domestic violence against his wife. A 2005 charge was dismissed after a hearing.

Note: As most of us all ready know this in NOT an uncommon case. We see it all the time in the news. Man has prior charges for domestic violence against his wife and/or children. Charges are dismissed and family ends up dead. Most of the times the wife gets scared and drops the charges. I feel that there should be something we can do about things like this. Each time I hear about babies dieing at the hands of their families, I get really upset that we cannot stop it. I heard that they are holding this guy now in Haiti. Also heard that he & his wife beat up on each other every chance they got. She kept having him put it jail the taking him back. They were beating the kids too. Don't know why someone didn't step in and take the kids. What a can of worms!

The facebook comment is incorrect, it was not from him, it was from someone else. If you also look over that persons comments, he is a religious person and often comments of things of that sort. It doesnt nor should mean its a clue to the case.
